Thanks for sharing that picture! I used to have the Atari 5200 version of "Robotron" and it came with a plastic controller holder that held two joysticks together. This worked better than you might expect, although it couldn't possibly help with the poor quality of the 5200's joystick design. In around 1985 my friend bought "Spy Hunter" for his Commodore 64 and it came with a plastic joystick holder for two Atari CX40 controllers.
