Game Objective Move Popeye through the ledges on all 3 screens. First screen you must catch Olive Oyl's hearts as they fall, but beware of Brutus and the hammers of the dreadful Seahags. Second screen you must catch Olive Oyl's love notes as they fall and on the third screen you must catch Olive Oyl's love letters as they fall. Popeye defends himself by punching hammers and the vulture which comes out on the third screen. Popeye also has a spinach container which when punched makes him invincible for a few seconds. There is only one container of spinach per round. You must try to advance Popeye through the levels scoring as many points as possible in the process. Game Scoring +13 [1st place], +12 [2nd place], +11 [3rd place], +9 [4th place] down to +1 pt for participation. +2 Game Winner Incentive. Extra Score Bonus: Get a combined score of 33,000 pts or more and earn +1 bonus point; Get a combined score of 67,000 pts or more and earn +2 bonus points; Get a combined score of 100,000 pts or more and earn +3 bonus points. Max-out Extra Score Bonus points earned is +3. Popeye Virtual Patch Bonus Join the "SPINACH RAIDERS"You will receive a Popeye Virtual Patch Bonus if you score 50,000 points or more on any game level. First and foremost going up and down the stairs with this dreadful disc is TERRIBLE.... 🙄 Secondly lol, Brutus can be two floors above you and suddenly he will just jump down 2 levels and get you. That's just stupid.... I just tried Level 4 myself and it's crazy! With 3 guys....forget it. I've been playing Popeye a bit today and I am finding it pretty hard and therefore frustrating. I am not going to post a score until I get one I am satisfied with,likely 30k on both levels 3 and 4. He will bop his head up to get Popeye and he will also reach down with his arm to get Popeye as well. The emulated version is decent, but the original hardware port is SO BAD that you don't even see the Seahags, but instead out of nowhere a pink bottle gets thrown at Popeye. Further exacerbating this problem is on the later levels you cannot even dare to climb the stairs because you most assuredly will get hit with a pink bottle that comes out of nowhere.... 👎 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
