I chose Defender. It was the first game I played at home on a non Intellivision device. I loved the game but I felt there was something wrong not playing it on my console

After so many years, being able to play it on my old Inty was like putting it right at last.

Super Chef BT is an ex aequo winner in my heart, since I think the original BT is one of the greatest game ever and Super Chef BT succeeds in making it even greater. Simply incredible...

I was trying to figure out where D2K was and then I realized it came out the same year as Carol. Two all time classics that year.

Looking back through the lists, some good battles throughout the years

2012 - Carol vs D2K

2013 - Harley vs Harley (Super Chef vs Super Pro Tennis)

2015 - Piggy vs Ms Pac Man (55 to 53)

2017 - Oregon Bound vs Jr Pac (one vote win)

2019 - DOTC vs TNT

2020 - Tale of Dragons vs Maria vs Rick D in an epic 3 way.
2021 - Intellivania vs Sorrow (kind of)

Looking forward to this year's epic battles with some fantastic 2022 releases. (Voting coming soon-ish)

Maybe there could be a poll for the 2nd places of all years 🙂

Whatever game gets the second most votes wins!

Actually, I think GOTY is fun. But we have enough post 125 to do a best ever.

For me, I like a game and play it like crazy for a while.  What males it a GREAT game for me, is if I go back to it after the newness is gone.

These are truly classics.  That is why I went with Carol.  I played Carol for hours and hours everyday the first year it came out.

Then the season was over and I put it away for a while.  I got some other new games and played them for a while...

But I keep going back to Carol.  I used to have pretty good patterns down. But I now try to play different, every time I play.  Great reply value.

I have to be closing in on my 1981 Astrosmash hours by now!  LOL

It was very hard though, BT and DIIK are great.  These still get play.  But it may not be fair to judge.  I have play so much DK and Burgertime over the years.  I may just be burnt out.

I was always a Sports fan.  So the original MLB, NFL and NBA will always be near and dear.  My brother and I played these daily.

Soccer and Tennis got a lot of love also.   Bowling with Dad...  Horse Racing with my Uncle...  So much of my preteen years was intellivision related.

Rainy days, snow days, sick days.... got Auto Racing, Space Battle, Astrosmash and Sub Hunt.  The few 1 player games I had.

I was late to Tron D.D.  But I still play that a bunch.   PS.  Check out David's SP.  Tennis, Auto Racing, Tron(s) etc. etc.

Yep, everybody has their own logic.

I voted on Defender of the Crown not because of # hours played, but because it truly changed my perception of what I considered feasible on the platform.

From time to time I go back to this game not to beat my score, but for inspiration.

This is why I voted for Sorrow of Gadlad Thur.

My favorite is Piggy Bank.

Stop it, guys! You are making me blush. 😊

But, seriously, I voted for Carol, but not (necessarily) because I made it.  To this day, it is truly a game in the style and class that I would have liked to play — irrespective of who made it.

It has everything I loved about my favorite games from the 1980s, and I still play it fairly often.

That others feels similarly makes me immensely proud, so thank you for playing it.

All that said, there are lots of good games in that list, and even many more that for one reason or another did not make it, yet were equally good, if not better.

I do not know if my game should be the best among all of those, but the fact that it is considered a peer is a true honor. :)
