Game Objective You are tasked with protecting Moon Station Tranquility. Standing in your way are 3 dreaded waves of demon fighters. Wave 1 you will fight Winged Warriors. Wave 2 you will fight Tentacled Terrorists. Wave 3 you will fight Bound Bombers. As you progress through each round you will encounter different types of bombs. First they will fire Pellet Pulverizers at you, (these are concentrated bombs). Then they will shoot Jagged Juggernauts at you, (they explode and scatter shrapnel). Finally, if you get far enough they will pelt you with Heat-Detecting Detonators (these track your laser cannon). If you get by all three waves each round then you will face off against the Terrible Demon Attack Boss, The Mother Ship of Death better known as Pandemonium. This horrifying ship will bludgeon you with hundreds of Suicide Bombers. You must shoot them or avoid them. Their sole mission is to crash into your laser cannon. Continue shooting at the base of this King Demon Craft. Eventually it will wear down and open up the middle vulnerable spot. Fire a well timed shot up there and BOOM, Pandemonium explodes. Survive as long as you can scoring as many points in the process. Game Scoring +13 [1st place], +12 [2nd place], +11 [3rd place], +9 [4th place] down to +1 pt for participation. +2 Game Winner Incentive. Extra Score Bonus: Get a combined score of 10,000 pts or more and earn +1 bonus point; Get a combined score of 20,000 pts or more and earn +2 bonus points; Get a combined score of 30,000 pts or more and earn +3 bonus points; Get a combined score of 40,000 pts or more and earn +4 bonus points; Get a combined score of 50,000 pts or more and earn +5 bonus points. Max-out Extra Score Bonus points earned is +5. +wongojack Posted February 23, 2023 Share Posted February 23, 2023 Sigh - there's nothing objectively wrong with this game, but I almost never have fun playing it. I prefer the faster speed with bullets that move the best, but overall, I'm not really a fan. As far as I can tell, there is no way to distinguish between levels from the game over screen. I was playing Level 1 last night and cruising along at 18k+ with 6 guys left and POOF!!! GAME OVER!!! 🤮👎 BTW - I video my Demon Attack games because I know the glitch can happen at anytime which is how I was able to get this screen-shot.... 😏 DEMON ATTACK - GAME 1 - 18,174 - PATCHED!!! I had 3 guys left (playing game 1) and then the Bound Bombers pulled a cheat sequence where instead of being all bound together at 5 they were separated at 3 and 2 and since they respawned super low they killed me again and again and again..... gar0u Posted March 1, 2023 Share Posted March 1, 2023 I was really struggling with this game, until I swapped out my Intellivision Flashback controller for a real Intellivision 2 controller. The disc sensitivity is so much better and the action is so much smoother. I like the extra boss stage to make it more like arcade Phoenix, but I wish that level felt more finished. Kinda feels like version zero.
