olddb
NES game similar to Zelda and the Seiken Densetsu (Mana) series. Some info: The game started as a NROM game and was submitted to the nesdevcomp some years back. The game is coded in 6502 using the wla assembler, and we used Tiled map editor for creating the maps. The music was composed using Famitracker. Currently, the game runs on mmc1 mapper. This is used for bank switching and to expand the NES ram in order to save game data. The game uses CHR ram, a 256k PRG rom and a 8K additional WRAM. Basically, the same specs as Final Fantasy 1 for the nes. Features: 2 player simultaneous coop ai partner multiple weapons save system much more Trailer: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HE-8P04JBeQ Now on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/savethekuin/save-the-kuin-a-brand-new-game-for-the-nes Play the demo: https://yukahugames.weebly.com/uploads/1/4/4/4/144441411/mdemo.nes Please, load the demo to your nes flashcart (or nes emulator). +Pac-Lander
Hello there! Fantastic new game! I am really liking a lot of what I've seen so far. The weapon/item selection mechanic is one of the things I liked the most. Graphically very cool designs and art direction. I like the fusion of a Zelda style game with a bit more in the way of RPG, and the idea of having a party along with the main character is cool, a sort of Zelda/Final Fantasy mashup. I originally thought the "invisible" jellies were damaging me without any way to avoid, but it turned out that just slashing away was a solution! I enjoyed the boss battle, and map designs overall. I played through to the end of the demo. Good stuff!

Quote The weapon/item selection mechanic is one of the things I liked the most. That mechanic was particularly created for the co-op mode. When playing co-op the action never stops, and the mechanic allows for both players to selects items/weapons simultaneously. Try it out, and give us some feedback! Keep in mind we are trying to avoid spoilers as much as possible. The game contains many elements not yet revealed. Thank you for playing! Please consider backing us on KS. YES, the boss is somewhat hard...UNTIL you figure out the pattern. Then he is very very easy. Which is great! It's a throwback to those old school NES types of bosses.
