Oz_Jad
Hi all, Just wanting some clarification. Is it correct to say if I swap out an NTSC TIA for a PAL and then install a composite mod removing the RF component it should convert the console to PAL? Or, is there more hardware involved with the NTSC process? With the AV mod, would I follow the PAL conversion procedure or stick with the NTSC version? Many thanks for your help on this one. No, you can't swap the chips, as their pinout is different and the PAL TIA requires a separate 4.433618 clock for color generation. You'll have to modify the board by cutting and rewiring traces, add the components for the extra oscillator, and replace the 3.579545 MHz quartz with the 3.546894 MHz one needed for PAL.
