This looks fantastic. Is this likely a third upcoming retro ninja release, or is this the evolution of a previously announce title (like chaos chassis)?

This is one of many projects I've got going on. It's closest to release, therefor getting the attention and promotion.

It isn't an evolution of Chaos Chassis or Project Orbit, those are two other shmups, but very different.

Chaos Chassis is a co-op / split-screen / mission-based shooter, similar to my old Strike Series (Desert, Jungle, Urban, etc).

Project Orbit is an homage to Gyruss (much in the same way BPM Boy is an homage to Marble Madness), with some light Rogue-lite kit-building, like all the games seem to be doing these days.

This is looking insane for a VCS game! Visually stunning just like BPM was. I’m really excited for this game dropping it’ll be an instant day one purchase for me to. I’ll be sure to pick it up on other platforms as well in time. It’s great this is coming to the VCS first hopefully it will help sell a few consoles.

Just out of curiosity, is there a reason why I don't see your name on the opening title sequence on Desert Strike for Sega Genesis? Did you use another name?

I've been shafted out of credit often. my name doesn't appear in a lot of the initial games I worked on at EA, like Crue Ball, General Chaos, etc. I stopped caring about such things a while ago, because the whole credits thing is often a lot of political BS and places like Rockstar had (have?) a standing policy; If someone leaves even an hour before the game ships, their name is removed from the credits.
🤷‍♂️

A quick and lazy google search ...

And who's that handsome guy? 😎image.png.5ee6199408133c28b3325290d9fee8e8.png

Tony this game actually looks pretty bad ass. This is exactly the type of game I enjoy playing. Good work man! I bought BPM Boy and there is nothing wrong with it that I have experienced its just not a genre of game that I usually pick up and play. This on the other hand is right up my alley! I can't wait to play this. Keep up the good work!

I'm getting FUTURE COP L.A.P.D. vibes here......... That is definitely a good thing sir!

Very true! I just stealth dropped a small pre-Alpha (Alpha, maybe?) demo of PolyGunR, exclusively for the Atari VCS!

Please check it out (it's FREE) and let me know what you think.

Thanks a lot for the demo. I wasn't expecting that today, so it's a nice treat. I love the graphics and sound. I especially like the music. Controlling the vehicle is a bit tricky, but I'll have to work at it.

I tried it- and maybe it's because I play a lot of Yars Recharged- but I just can't help but want to be able to move, aim, and shoot at the same time.

Having to choose between taking the shot or evading fire just didn't mesh for me so I turned it off and went back to Yars.

For people that like the control method though- it looks like it could be fun.

I'm going to have to work on on-boarding people, since there's ~50% who just want another bog-standard twin-stick shooter vs. something far more expressive and with depth in the controls. I could just turn it into a twin-stick shooter, but it would then just be one of tens-of-thousands where you kite enemies into columns of your bullets.

One of the biggest things is people's insistence on tapping the fire button vs. actually holding down the button to aim+shoot and using their momentum from moving for placement.

But thanks for playing.
