TissueLint
Hey guys, I was doing some testing on one of my 5200s that doesn’t display picture and found that my color oscillator crystal isn’t putting out anything. So my question is, are the color oscillators from the 2600 compatible with the 5200? Only reason why im asking is because console5 lists the crystal as a 2600 part but nowhere does it mention if it’s compatible with the 5200. They seem to have identical part numbers but just wanted to check and make sure before I ordered a replacement. Thanks in advance!
ApolloBoy
According to the service manuals for both the 2600 and 5200 it's the same part.

Okay, I kinda figured it would be but just wanted to check and make sure. Didn’t think about comparing both manuals. Thanks!
atari-dna
Your problem may not be the xtal. If you don't have a clock then you should also check Q1 and Q2 for proper voltages as they are the drivers for the clock to oscillate. Faulty transistors (or associated components) could be the culprit.
