800_Rocks
Hi - I can't boot this TT030 to see the TOS version on-screen as it is stored elsewhere. Based on the TOS labels picture it looks like it has TOS 3.06 based which is cool. Q1 - Is 3.0.6 the latest official TOS release for the TT030? Q2 - Over on https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Atari_TOS it mentions TOS 4.x Is 4.x only for the Falcon030 or could it be used on the TT030? TOS table found here: http://www.emulators.com/gemul8r.htm
moulinaie
You can use Tos 4 on a TT from disk. Rename it as GEM.PRG into the Auto folder. Guillaume
Zogging Hell
If you load MultiTOS or any replacement operating system you will get all of the 4.04 upgrades (and have multitasking as a side effect). All TOS 4.04 offers over 3.06/ 2.06 is support for various Falcon features and colour desk icons and '3D' coloured windows. If you want the coloured icons you are better off using an upgraded multitasking OS which will be more beneficial.
BJolly
Yes I think Tos 3.06 is the last. For coloured desk icons and windows @moulinaie has provided a way to get those in Tos 3.06. And very nice they look! He's on this thread. here's the link to his web page: Color TT (pagesperso-orange.fr) .
BJolly
Ah! Just checked and you may need a graphics card to run Color TT.
moulinaie
Color tt can run with tos 3.06 without graphic card but you won't get the background desktop or colored menus. Just the icons

BJolly
Yes! Just setting up my TT & resurrecting my Atari Hardware system after 16 + years. I really appreciate that some very useful atari web sites - like yours - are still up and running. 😎
