famicommander
Did you take those sound effects from Super Smash Bros on the Nintendo 64? There are definitely a lot of sound effects from this in your game. Edited 17 hours ago by famicommander

Jag_Mag
Many devs use place holders even for pixel art,the artist might be busy with another project but know the dimensions of the sprites so while waiting a dev will use place holders to continue dev.Being able to write the game play(handling, logic, collision) while waiting on your artist. I am still in the process of gathering all of the royalty free sound effects I want from freesound.org
famicommander
So, somehow it saves you time to rip copyrighted sound effects out of a different game only to have to remove them later and use ones you're actually allowed to use? Forgive me if that makes absolutely zero sense. 1

Don't lie because I already know what your purpose here is and it's not going to work. I just don't know who you are I clicked on the thread because I read the forums and it was near the top of the page. Then I clicked on one of the videos and heard Super Smash Bros sound effects. I was concerned that you were going to try to get away with releasing the game with those sound effects. I still suspect had I not said anything that's what you would have done, but I can't prove that.

The Jaguar version has no sound at all and the VCS version is only about 20% complete these games are nowhere near being released. No I don't think that's why you commented at all, I think you came here to start something but I can't prove that Edited 14 hours ago by WAVE 1 GAMES

Perhaps the same kind of guy that would try to make a commercial game in MUGEN until someone on this forum pointed out that isn't allowed, forcing said person to seek out a software he's actually allowed to use. But who knows, right?

I didn't backpeddle at no point did I state I was using those sound effects. In fact if you go back a little further there's music playing in the background while I was showing the Jaguar version off that I'm clearly not using that was discussed as well. I actually thought most people would know they were super smash bros sounds (because duh) and make the MORE LOGICAL assumption that they were placeholder sound effects. I didn't think it needed to be addressed because to me it's a no brainer. They are obviously placeholder sounds. I apologize if I overestimated your intelligence. As for me using the mugen engine at first, that was a simple mistake that you are taking out of context. I was misremembering which engine was free to use. I am human after all. Just as I assumed it was obvious they were in fact only place holder sounds anyone who can read will know it's obvious you are just here to start trouble, with that being said I'm done talking with you

I am curious though, what happened to you agreeing with everyone on Page 4 that the rotating backgrounds look awful? You said they would be changed to static…yet they are still here…looking just as, well, awful… Can I ask a genuine question though?. You are clearly still frequenting the forums regularly, why are you choosing to stay completely mute on the threads where people talk about not receiving games they have paid you for?, or the realisation that you appear to be selling games that are not yours to sell? I get that this is your thread about your ‘game’ so of course you will comment, but maybe you should also provide some constructive input on the other topics involving yourself. And honestly, I find the graphics really good in general. That being said, this makes the gameplay even more depressing at the moment imho. I know it's not finished and things can still improve, but I'm not a fan of the silly special moves, especially involving projectiles since it's a brawler, not a shoot 'em up. It really looks rough and buggy, almost unplayable or at least not very fun for now. But I really hope I'm wrong.

Each to their own I guess, for me they are just far too obvious and distracting, add to that completely unrealistic. I did suggest way back in the thread that if he insisted using these backgrounds to maybe make the rotation much more subtle, clearly that was ignored, just like all the feedback Jeff ever gets. Oh yeah agreed, the gameplay looks utterly dire, like, really really bad, as you say, unplayable. I can’t see that changing to be honest. I think the most we can hope for is a “game” that’s worth leaving on attract mode in your game room (assuming it has an attract mode). It may look a little pretty running in the background, but forget actually picking up the joypad and trying to play it, that appears to be a recipe for disaster. Of course the above is assuming anyone who is dumb enough to purchase it actually receives their copy. Edited 6 hours ago by mdkdue
