Find a name for our game!

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone

You've probably already heard about this project from daddy pete's videos, but we're developing a board game for the Intellivision.

There will actually be 2 games, but the 1st will use the console.

Let's play a game: find a title for our game ^^.

Whoever comes up with a title for the final version will win a signed version when it's released.

Let me quickly explain how this board game works.

It's a game for the whole family. Intellivision fans will be able to play, but so will children and people who know nothing about it.

The aim is to find the objects announced by the console.

You can play with cards or with real household objects.

You'll move a pawn on a game board to reach an objective first. There's a bit of strategy involved.

The console is essentially used for keeping score, announcing objects and a few other embellishments. It also acts as a referee, since you'll need to be fast to progress.

Intelli-Go; Intelli-Find

Or IntelliFinder.

Here are a few more:

  • Finders/Keepers
  • Go Fetch
  • Bring It On!
  • Collectitude
  • Fetch It!
  • Treasure Hunt

The description of the game is a bit generic, so perhaps with more details on the themes and mechanics, a more suitable name could emerge.

"Eye Spy" (DZ beat me to it) sounds good.

Otherwise:

  • My Little Eye
  • With My Little Eye
  • Operation: Detection
  • Discovery Detective
  • Quick Find
  • Operation: Quick Find
  • Search and Rescue
  • Operation: Search and Rescue
  • Find 'n' Win
  • Search 'n' Find
  • Search 'n' Win

I like Operation: Detection.  I’m a sucker for alliterative or rhyming titles. :)

However, I wonder if it may fit a different kind of game.  It depends on whether searching for clues and other investigative aspects are part of this game, or if it is just a “pick a card, find the item.”

Grabbit is a nice, silly-sounding name! 👍🏻

Silly-sounding names for family games is almost a requirement! 😄

Objectathlon

I'm trying things that have none or few results on Google search.

In that case I also submit Splunge as it doesn't really mean anything (except to Monty Python fans) so is totally up for grabs.

Can someone point me to the Daddy Pete video that talks about this?
