New Adventure Game

I am almost completely done with testing and fixing a few last bugs for my new adventure game.  This one will be using the Infocom based interpreters and will be released for multiple platforms.

Platforms: (Amiga, VIC-20***, C64, C128, PET, Plus/4, BBC Micro, Apple 2, Atari 8 bits, Atari ST, Classic Macintosh, MSDOS, Windows, MSX1, MSX2, Sam Coupe', ZX Spectrum, TI-99/4A, TRS-80 Color Computer, TRS-80 Model 3/Model 4)
*** VIC-20 has to have major expansion to run it. All expanded RAM blocks are required - 0=3kb, 1,2,3,4 = 8kb each.

Title is called 'The Forgotten Pyramid'

here is a summary of the intro:

In the remote villages of Peru, nestled amidst the breathtaking landscapes of
the Andes Mountains and dense jungles, a remarkable tale unfolds. It is the
story of an extraordinary individual who dedicated his life to making a
difference in the lives of those less fortunate. His unwavering commitment
took him to the far corners of Peru, delivering essential food and medical
supplies to small, isolated communities.

For years, our protagonist fearlessly piloted his aircraft, navigating
treacherous terrain and unpredictable weather conditions. Each flight was a
lifeline for those in need, a beacon of hope in the face of adversity.
He witnessed firsthand the resilience and courage of the villagers, who faced
daily challenges with grace and determination.

But one fateful day, as he embarked on his return journey from a successful
supply drop, the skies betrayed him. A storm, fierce and unexpected,
descended upon the aircraft with an unforgiving force. In a split second,
lightning crackled through the air, striking the fragile metal bird that had
carried our protagonist through countless missions. In that heart-stopping

moment, he knew his only chance of survival was to bail out into the vast

expanse of the Peruvian jungles below.

I recently re-played all Scott Adams Adventures from 1 to 12, and this was really an angry moment. I think there was some logic, but really far-fetched. Something with a black heart of the statue.

Yes, spoiler, but that one does not deserve a better fate. 🙂

Actually, at some few points in certain games I fired up the Adventure Editor and looked inside. Savage Island 1 is yet another candidate of suspended logic (if I remember correctly, this was particularly the question of the nature of drying puddles and behavior of hurricans).

The game asks to seek the Heart of Iron. Totally unclear as to the relationship to rubies though since they are composed of aluminum and oxygen without carbon. Now it were diamonds, then maybe there might be a relationship with iron, albeit a tiny one. If I ever run across Scott Adams I'm bitch slapping him.

Here's a walkthrough if anyone needs it.

Pyramid of Doom

Walkthrough. There are a total of 13 treasures. The use of the Ruby is completely arbitrary and unintuitive. Totally impossible to finish without a hint.

You might be punishing the wrong villain.  According to this, it was written by someone else.

Did not know that.

Tell that to Scott Adams' face and its Walid-sized hand print.

Oh, the scene...

Scott Adams: Well, hello there, fan!  So great to see you!  I've been thrilled and privileged to provide you with quality entertainment for all these years.  I really appreciate you guys.

Walid: ::bitch slaps Scott Adams::  That's for Pyramid of Doom!!

Scott Adams: B-b-b-but I didn't even write that!
