Unable to bring up menu in 2600.bin ROMS

I purchased this great product and the joystick cable from Stone Age Gamer at the Cleveland Classic Console and Arcade Game Show on Saturday.

 

I loaded all my 7800 and 2600 ROMs. My question is how do I get menu to appear in 2600 games? I press the button on my Genesis pad and nothing appears like in the 7800 games. So I cannot Save State, Exit and such. I have to turn off the console.

You can't currently, break is only supported for 7800 games. If you want to switch 2600 games you need to power cycle the console.

 

Edit: I should add, it is something I will be looking into, but there are definitely no promises with this feature! The 7800GD is primarily a 7800 cart, support for 2600 games is really just a bonus.

Could you implement a similar thing for exiting emulation on 2600 games as the plus cart. Which used to be reset and press right on the joypad. Although it caused issue on a very small number of games so u have to implement a way to tag a game to turn that implementation off either in the main menu or by a filename attribute?

As I say, I’ll look into it at some point, but it’s not high priority.
