atari2600land
I have decided to go with batari Basic this time so the scanline stays steady. After messing around for a few hours, I got this: All I have done so far is the title screen, which, in addition to looking good IMHO, also plays a little tune. It has been awhile since I last used bB, so I had to re-remember stuff I used to do. I tried to make Steve be on the ground but I just couldn't do it. But after all this, I need to figure out what Steve actually does in the game. I just worked on this because I was super bored and needed something to do. I think the title screen song worked out rather well given the TIA. I decided on the key of B since all the notes were there on instrument 4. steve1.bas.bin
atari2600land
Finally thought of something Steve could do. It took several hours of coding and I had to delay sleep until 6 a.m. but I finally did it. Steve the watermelon is in a jam. Seems like some evil vegetarian cut up Steve's pals and scattered them across the kingdom. It's now up to Steve to get the missing watermelon slices so he can turn them back into whole watermelons again with his watermelon magic. steve2.bas.bin
atari2600land
This isn't going to work. I'm going to have to think of something else for Steve to do.
atari2600land
New idea. Steve and something else race towards an item in a Pac-Man-style maze. If either one gets the item, a new item pops up for them to race to do. Occasionally, the maze will change. I haven't got to the part where I add another enemy in but I'm figuring if I check for the enemy's position in relation to the item, I'm hoping for it to work. This took a huge amount of time, so let me know if something is wrong with it. steve4a.bas.bin

atari2600land
OK, I give up. I'm posting the code for the title screen in case anyone wants to use it in a game. steve1.bas
