I wanted to explain my sudden absence from this wonderful forum

Two weeks ago on Friday the 11th I had a heart episode when I was on my way to my little Italian social club like I do every Friday.

I had bypass on the following Monday and I've been in the hospital ever since.

Getting strong, dealing with some post-operative infections, but nothing out of the ordinary then trying to find me a rehabilitation place so I can resume some cardio and rehabilitation activities

That doesn't work I'm going home next week

And back on this forum before you know it.

You guys are the best thank you.

I'm doing very well fellas I was only in ICU for one day which is totally unheard of, and I just got home to my house today after a little over two weeks.

Everything is healing well except for some swelling in my right leg because they really had to dig to find veins to use for the bypass.

Thanks for the well wishes, I consider myself very lucky.

Did a follow-up interview with my heart surgeon today and they finally answered the question nobody seemed to know:

My heart muscle itself is solid and strong, it was just the arteries around it were damaged with disease

But as far as the overall function of the heart?

There's not an issue at all, good squeeze they said, and good squeeze is what you hope for.

Thanks for the support and the get well messages via DM.  VERY much appreciated. 🕹️ 📺

  • 1 month later...

Just wanted to let you all know that I had my first appointment with my surgeon Wednesday since he cut me and everything checked out fine.

The wound is healing, the bone in my sternum is stable and they said it should be close to 100% in about a month.

No more range of motion restrictions and I'm allowed to lift things up to 35 pounds now but he did say not to even think about throwing a bowling ball for another 4 weeks.

This place is the best I wish I was in Portland this weekend!

Hopefully next year.

Believe me I've already gotten my fix of Intellivision bowling the last 6 weeks since I've been home.

Still no 3rd 1200 series yet though

Are you using the left-handed strategy on the Intellivision?

My two boys love real life bowling. I've learned way more about oil patterns, etc in the last few years than I ever wanted to lol.

Yup

Four lefties

0 slickness

16 pounds.

Move him to the top, then click the aim button real fast so the white ball appears to blink, and then maximum hook.

All comes down to carry then. LOL

If your boys haven't shot on "sport patterns" yet wait until you get a load of THAT.

These two wounds were as red as beats when the surgery was over because they were the deepest wounds where they got the veins from for the bypass

Healing well, the swelling in my right leg is finally going down to match my left leg.
