Atari clearly also though Qomp was worthy of the VCS, or here, an updated game, Qomp2.

Qomp2 looks fantastic! Refreshing new take on Pong with a great backdrop story.

 

I got the announcement from Atari Today but I didn't know about Qomp1.

 

Fans of the new genre perspective may also enjoy the similarly themed BREAKOUT 2002 LASERBEAMS PAL on either the new Atari 2600+ console or the classic. It's a SuperCharger game but there is also a CBS RAM version that should be compatible with the Atari 2600+ in cart form:

The Atari VCS 800 could be in a very unique position to have the best version of Qomp2. Qomp2 looks like it would work very well with the classic joystick and if they add in some spinner action it could be next level!

Qomp 1 is available on Steam and is really good.  I heard there was an issue with the source code and that is why they couldn't port it to the VCS, but I heard that this basically replaces the first game.  I am looking forward to it.

I was asking around for Qomp 1 a few months back because it seemed like a natural fit for the VCS. I get potential compatibility issues (especially with an older title that wasn't designed with this console in mind). I am very pumped that the VCS will get the sequel though.

If you notice, it is not just the VCS that Qomp 1 hasn't been ported to. No Switch, Xbox, or Playstation version has been made of Qomp 1.

Qomp2 is available now in the VCS Store, you can use your VCSLOVE code if you haven't done so already.

Such an amazing game! I'm really enjoying it and hoping to spend more time playing it over the weekend. I love how challenging it gets, it'll be one of those games i keep going back to.
