T:ME Salvo with AtariVox+ no speech

I noticed playing T:ME Salvo that no speech was present from my AtariVox+, using the ROM from Trebor’s 7800 ROM PROPack v6.13 with my 7800GD.

 

If I move the microSD card to my Dragonfly, and launch the same ROM from the Dragonfly, the AtariVox+ speech works.

 

For what it's worth, speech on Dungeon Stalker works when launched from the 7800GD.

 

It also does seem to work with the 7800GD on the Atari 2600 side when I test it with Juno First.

Turn off break. I’ve not had a chance to look into this yet, but some AtariVox games (not all, though!) are not playing nicely with the break controller polling. Any issues seem to go away when break is disabled, though.

 

Break isn’t relevant for 2600, though, so that would need further investigation.

Bingo, that was it. Disabled break and speech was back.

 

It seems to work fine on the 2600 side, I should have been more clear.

Ahh, great, thanks for the clarification! I need to investigate that as it should work, but at least it’s an easy workaround.
