KG7PFS
Floppy disks originaly came only in plain black. Later, they came in all colors, but still the plain color. Somewhere in bettween, these "Memo" disks were made by "Memron", a company I had never heard of untill I got two of them. These are the only disks I have ever seen with any kind of design other than plain blank. Did anyone else make disks like this? 4 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/354851-cool-looking-floppy-disks/ Share on other sites
Albert
Whoa, that is very cool. I'd love to see photos of other disks that had interesting designs! I've seen them in different colors before, but not sure I've ever seen one quite like you've pictured here! ..Al Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/354851-cool-looking-floppy-disks/#findComment-5316429 Share on other sites
Krebizfan
The Memron Chromadisk got a few writeups. One in Feb 1985 Creative Computing and another in John Dvorak's Infoworld column of Nov 14, 1983. Dvorak mentions Visicorp and Information Unlimited as users. I have not seen a Visicorp disk like that. The only disk I know of that wasn't sold by Memron directly was the 1984 Epyx Preview Disk which was perhaps its best use. The preview disk wasn't going to be hidden in a box. https://www.commodorecomputerclub.com/photos-july-2-2010/ and scroll down a lot to see an image of the disk. Internet Archive has copies from several of the museums of diskette sleeves showcasing how the sleeves didn't have to be bland. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/354851-cool-looking-floppy-disks/#findComment-5316501 Share on other sites

+OLD CS1
I had seen a couple of designer 5.25" floppies, but the majority of special disks were just full colors. I have a bunch of colored ones. I would enjoy seeing some of the designs which might have survived all these years.
