Dropzone +6HDG (high score saving version)

Dropzone +6HDG By TheEnemy of TREX

 

1. Title page converted from Ste86 c64 pic and then touched up on atari
2. Documents added
3. 6 trainers added
4. High saver to disk added (wont save if any trainer on)
5. Bugs have been fixed, ntsc issues have been fixed which includes:

*The dropzone logo wouldnt drop and had issues
*Garbage was shown on screen after game over

  Other fixes for both include:

*Overscan on the left is now fixed which probably only effects
  when shown on new tvs.

*The colour of the dropzone player is now lighter in cloak mode

*Finally I fixed the name entry as it was far too sensitive.

 

Please make sure on new devices such as SIO2SD etc when saving that you give
enough time to make sure it has saved before turning the Atari off as on some
models we noticed there was a little bit of a delay before this process was 
complete.

 

Any problems/bugs then let me know and i will look into them.

I have put it up there, but, look at this:

The high score table, is...stored....vertically.....(how utterly sadistic!)

 

Writing the scraper is going to take a while, because I have to determine the extent of where the high scores actually begin, and then re-order the bytes so that they can be written out (at the same time while converting from screen codes to ASCII). This should be interesting (in a, tooth drilling kind of way)

I will have to check but the logo does drop on ntsc from memory .. if not I will look into.

 

As far as speed patch from ntsc to pal it was something I looked at and spoke to wrathchild about .. if enough interest then I can look into implementing as an option to turn it on or off

The logo drop animation seems fine on NTSC to me; but just before the drop animation, there is a short graphical glitch where the graphics flash for an instance. I checked and it doesn't happen when running on PAL. (This is running in Altirra, again. I haven't tested on real hardware yet.)

Interested. The game is a bit too fast on NTSC; but I like seeing/playing it without the fix sometimes, because it plays really smooth. So, as an option would be nice.

properly fixed tweaked it would still be smooth, but a few fixes were done, some might be slightly over zelous because a though of adding a cycle or two might be more safe some how.

I used to play it all that time at ludicrous speed so when competing on PAL machine later, mopped the floor quick. Never realized it was supposed to be slower, but that happened a bit with some titles. The never corrected timers etc.

Think Elektraglide etc. later quick fixes were done but some adjustment might have been needed. I would have been happy with just having the time to complete extended or adjusted, because fast game play was exciting, it is rough when things ramp up of progression and added enemy games are like kill boxes though.
