somacast
Hi , I found good almost new sony floppy drive , did the easy part which is the jumper mod .. works fine.. now for the known issues: how to remove that original floppy cable from the atari motherboard? is it removable? because the cable has to be flipped for the sony drive second thing is the face plate of the original, this is the type with large button in the center, again, it doesn't want to come off the original single sided drive , any hints please, it shouldn't break.. thanks Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/355275-atari-520stfm-sony-920-mod/ Share on other sites

Sorry can't help with the faceplate, usually they are just pushed on with the plastic providing "spring clips" to hold it on. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/355275-atari-520stfm-sony-920-mod/#findComment-5325810 Share on other sites

somacast
it is a great website, now other than the factthatt I have installed pins header is this cable usable with atari? or do i need one without twist? it worked at first , but i am seeing issues now.. thanks Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/355275-atari-520stfm-sony-920-mod/#findComment-5326209 Share on other sites
somacast
just to add , yes , it can't have a twist to use it with Atari .. secondly, I was able to mod internally a samsung drive to work, but again it needs some mechanical solution for eject as its face-less type , so no button even Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/355275-atari-520stfm-sony-920-mod/#findComment-5326350 Share on other sites
