Giles N
Perhaps some homebrewers would like to make 7800 version of a Atari-held IP. If so, - why not just let them - (invite them?); if results are good, get the rumour out there on the street? Cloak and Dagger for the 7800…? Maze Invader for the 7800…? If anyone could master pseudo-3D coding: Red Baron for Atari 8-Bit and or 7800…? The homeports could implement more things to do, more to explore & find, more chunky and colorful graphics, better sound sound and music… Let homebrewers port them with the freedoms taken with the best ports seen the last years, just use Atari IP. In 7 or so years of active collecting, I only saw it twice... The second time being when I bought it. I lucked out with other H.E.S/Salu releases. They are incredibly difficult to find and are usually very expensive. Overall though, if you are patient, it's very doable. Heavy to find was Pal Baseball in the Plastic shell....only 3 were found. Seems the IP nightmare-scenarios can go-on forever … I'm no expert, either. However, according to Wikipedia, Atari was developing the game under the title "Agent X", before the movie tie-in deal was reached. Perhaps Atari was granted indefinite rights to the name. Who knows? I mean seriously, WHO?! So, if Cloak & Dagger cannot be used, then it seems "Agent X" would be perfect.

+Smallywood
If anyone has a Minty CIB Tank Command or sealed one for as well and would like to discuss a sale. Please message me. This is the very one holding up my collection but I have never played it so I can’t weigh in on crappy or not gameplay. I still need one. The only reason to collect this crappy game is if you desperately want a complete 7800 collection. The last few copies to sell on eBay: Loose cart: $299.99 CIB: $799.99 I honestly wouldn't pay $50 for this piece of crap. Good luck on your search!
+GoldenWheels
Tank Command out here catchin' strays. I don't think it is THAT bad....mid pack of the 7800 library I'd say. I'd certainly play it again before I ever played F-14 Tomcat or Jinks, or Super Skateboarding or Super Huey or....man the 7800 has some really crappy games at the bottom.

But, but...I really like JINKS!!! It's OK,...Deep down I knew I was the only one... Except maybe @Jinks! Hey Jinks do you also like JINKS? (I hope so since it's your AA Name)...Wait, I think there was one other person around who liked it..Shot in the dark (since my memory sucks haha) @sramirez2008 Do you like JINKS for 7800? I could swear at least one other person around here might like it, LOL!

Jinks
I am not cheap. I kinda think it is cool. Like the digitized voice. The cool graphics and the gameplay. Better than a ton of 7800 games.

+Mitch
The more important question is; has anyone actually beaten Jinks? Presumably by clearing all of the bricks on all of the levels? Does it have an ending or does it just loop? Sorry, I don't have the patience to try, even with save states. Mitch

Mitch I haven't (at least that I remember), but I don't have that mentality. I want a game that is fun to PLAY. A nice ending can be icing on the proverbial cake, but mostly I care about Playing the game not Beating the game.
CPUWIZ
I have some sealed Jinks around, I would let go cheaper than price charts. I'll dig up the box of 7800 CIB's.

I was wrong, but I have a stack of brand new ones loose, from the original Sirius and Plutos project. I ripped them all open and tossed the boxes and manuals, I had like 80 of them at some point, they take up too much room. LOL

They were only used for Sentinel and Ninja Golf and are probably PAL Sentinal's.

I like Tank Command just fine, and I would agree it's a middle of the pack game. I completed my collection in the early 00's when prices were a lot lower (I think I might have paid $80 or so for it), and I have no regrets about being a completist even though there are about 15 or so games (mostly the various flight simulator-based titles and sports games) that I really don't see myself playing other than the occasional "haven't played this in years, I wonder if it's still as bad as I remember" moment. There is also something to be said for the impossibility of having a complete collection of homebrews, always something else out there to dream on.
CaptainBreakout
Nice. I went ahead and got the preorder for Ninja Golf from Atari in its current form. I think they were supposed to ship last month, but the cargo ship got delayed or some such. If there's any chance a couple of these PCBs can be made into a Midnight Mutants or a certain unreleased primate-centric 7800 title, color me interested. I didn't originally set out with the intention of collecting every game, although the recent news with the 2600+ has reignited my interest in the system, and I've started purchasing games for it again. I've got around 34 games for it now, with another 7 on the way. At this point, there are still a few more games I'd like to have for it, although they are mostly pricey and harder-to-find ones, and it's got me wondering if I should try for the complete set. Is it still doable to go for the full set of original/retail releases, or are any of the games so rare or costly that it just isn't possible any more? I have to admit, I cry a little every time I remember how I sold my childhood copies of Double Dragon and ninja Golf, and how much those cost now. it depends, especially with Froggo Games and titles like Commando, it also depends on your interest in the re-pressings. Dunno what the legal status of Froggo is but perhaps those would be more likely to receive future re-pressings if Atari does more than just 3 games along with all the other Atari owned titles, now stuff like Double Dragon, Commando, Ikari Warriors, and basically all the other Third Party rarities, that might be an issue, i mean i'm not sure how much Technos, SNK or Capcom would want for obscure ports of their games, especially if they want a "better" version first or even care to give an answer. I mean i dont think most companies aside from nintendo would care much about having atari publish an old atari game, and surely most would recognize the deal as not a major one anyways. But then again i'm not Atari so honestly Be Smart, Patient and make sure your pockets are deep enough.
