To achieve a pixel perfect emulator style image from your 7800GD, these are the settings you will want to try --

 

Start with the Saturn 352 preset, it's the closest to the 7800GD

Change the ADC samples per line to 1816

Set the SDTV LPF to light

 

This gives me a perfect picture (tested with NTSC 7800 using RGB SCART cable).

 

To remove the screen bending artifacts in the few few scanlines adjust the horizontal and vertical crop and centering such that the image is perfect for your taste and requirements.

Any suggestions, according to these settings, for PAL machines?

 

I accidentially set the above values and had heavy glitches -

setting the 5X back to default gave me a proper picture.
