Bought my first ever Lynx!

Recommended Posts

Wonderful! Gates of Zendodon is an underrated side-scrolling shooter, Rampage and Blue Lightning are lots of fun, and as for Hard Drivin'...well, you've got the rest of the Lynx library to play and enjoy. :)

Im a Lynx guy myself. I have a Lynx II, unmodded and 20-30 games. Chip's Challenge is my favorite. let's link up. I will need to modify my cable so that it can reach your Lynx. how many feet away are you?

I just ordered a copy of Chips Challenge. I remember playing that on the first computer my family ever owned in 1995. Also ordered Crystal Mines II.

I'm a few feet away, just a few tho LOL

same here. We had Chips Challenge on our PC from around that time. It was Windows 3.11. I know that because I remember it not having the Start button. also had JezzBall, another family favorite

Most newer Lynx cartridges include a small chip for saved data, so you can save high scores, game progress, RPG stats, whatever.

The two of you can play head-to-head Lynx (and other platform) matchups with Eight Bit Slicks (with BitHub), and you can get that at Songbird. :)

BTW, that "Kit Case" is the original version of the case.  The later ones had plastic covers that velcroed down over the carts so they didn't all fall out onto the parking lot when someone opened the car door as you were playing with the lid of the case propped up against the car door.  Yes, that happened to me. ;-)

HOWEVER< you should NOT let that case go.  The original ones are harder to find in my experience.

Congrats on your purchase and welcome to the club. The Lynx port of Xenophobe is really good. Btw, you may want to consider a muli-cart like the Lynx Game Drive.

Nice!  I hope you enjoy it.  You've got some very good games there... I especially like Rampage on the Lynx.

I got into the Lynx just a couple years ago, and I was pleasantly surprised with the nice screen (totally playable today imo) and game library.  It's a system I think I would have been disappointed with back in the day (not a lot of side scrollers or RPGs), but I really appreciate it today.  I think my favorite game on the system now is Toki, which looks, sounds, and plays great on the system.

Hmm. I may have one of the originals as well. Mine is still sealed in box, so I’m not 💯 certain.

Did I miss out in not having a Lynx?  Of course I had a 2600.  I remember the 5200 being released, but it was too expensive.  I bought someone's used 7800 when he was getting a Nes or maybe Snes.  Then I bought a Jaguar and now the VCS.  But I never had Lynx or XE.  I still think lower priced ST conversions could have bought the Jag enough time for the Jag II to be released.
