Has anyone gotten 'Amico Home' working?

For giggles, I installed the Amico Home app on my Lenovo Android tablet and the Amico Controller app on my Moto Z4. I launched the Amico Home app on the tablet and the controller app on the phone and all I'm getting is a 'Searching for Amico' message on the controller app. I cannot pair the two apps. Bluetooth is enabled on both devices.

Has anyone else tried to get this working and have you had any success?

With this thing being in development as long as it has, one would think this process should be transparent.

Before posting here, I checked Modern Gaming but didn't see a category for Amico. I remember seeing one at one point but they may have been wiped with all the negative aura surrounding the subject matter.

"Modern Gaming Discussion" is the section.  You can post topics like this one there.

amico home works smoothly good on my oukitek k16, i am cast/mirror the screen over to my android tv capsule max beamer and can play it on my wall over the bed and use my old king kong mini as small controller with the amico controller app connected with bluetooth.

The menu looks very fresh and playfully animated, love the style with the preview screens showing a lil video for each game, looks way more fun in compare to the static not animated boring xbox, playstation, switch menus which are not fun to navigate.

Just purchased Astrosmash and make a lil video about the amico home menu too its not good, was recording with my ipad the wall but it shows its working.

My issue is sometimes after playing 1-2 levels in Astrosmash i need to restart the amico controller app because its loose the connection, maybe because i have not the best wlan but it works and is fun to play, hopefully finnigan fox will be released soon too.

here the video, there are also way better videos on youtube but you can see it works:

Not sure the order you tried, but I've seen it work where you start the phone app first, then start Amico Home on the other device. Then as booting up it recognizes the controller.

No idea if that is how it is suppose to work, but I've seen it work that way.

The Modern Gaming section is a collection of threads for modern gaming.  The Amico thread is always in the top 10 thread.

I just realized a potential issue with the original post. The controller app and Amico Home app do not communicate via Bluetooth. It is via WiFi. You need both devices on the same private network to function. If you have WiFi off on one it won't work.

Also if anyone has their preorder in you might want to read the terms of condition before you redeem Astrosmash. It will cut into your refund or make it where you have to pay the difference if the hardware miraculously comes out.

I found that out myself and was able to get both to talk to each other once they were both connected to my Wi-Fi network. The problem now is that I am reluctant to spend $5 (much less $15) to beta test for them. They really should provide a free or limited version of at least one of the games so one can actually play and see if they warrant the cost.

This company has been making greedy decisions with knowing they have no product ready to come out since at least 2020. You expect them to change now?

You would be better off trying Astrosmash on Steam. https://store.steampowered.com/app/2430580/Astrosmash/

You can buy it and if you hate it return/get it refunded if you've played under a certain time limit. The app does nothing special, and is actually a more difficult and convoluted setup than releasing games directly into Google Play.

For those curious, here's my video on how to use Amico Home, gameplay, and issues.

I agree with @MrBeefy that for Astrosmash, Steam is a much better experience.  Hopefully this video will help people decide if they want to shell out the cash to play these this way.

I *HIGHLY* recommend using a USB-C to HDMI cable to play on your TV, especially if playing multiplayer. I can't imagine crowding around a phone would be a good experience.

Has your daughter tried Astrosmash on Steam? If so did it change her opinion on it?
