IPAWS
Ok thanks Pan. Just can't get mine working - partially loads and I just get a garbled mess. Does this look like a correct cartridge? Picked it up recently at a local Retro store. I don't have an original Atari to try it on unfortunately. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/357759-the-2600-game-compatability-thread/page/10/#findComment-5555676 Share on other sites

Flash the dedbug firmware version, and upload a photo with the md5 info here, maybe @raz0redcan fix that. Or is only a faulty cart... 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/357759-the-2600-game-compatability-thread/page/10/#findComment-5555678 Share on other sites
Pan
@IPAWS for you to compare md5 hash of my working PAL copy is: c31a17942d162b80962cb1f7571cd1d5 1.1x-r6 Stella 6.7 your cartridge looks ok and has a better preserved label than mine 😄 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/357759-the-2600-game-compatability-thread/page/10/#findComment-5555755 Share on other sites
IPAWS
I was literally typing out my reply when you answered @Pan. Many thanks. As you've said the game works for you - I'm leaning toward a faulty cart at this point. Though I do have another 2600+ with the original firmware that I could try. No issues with any other games - except Boulder Dash which we all know does not work yet on the 2600+. Not sure if my copy is PAL or NTSC. Being in Australia I'd guess PAL but I've picked up NTSC copies of other games at markets and retro stores around me - so not entirely sure. Yes well.... my label is in pretty good condition - so much so that I wondered if it might be a fake but again - not sure. It does load.... something 🤔 I do have the 1.1x-r6: debug firmware loaded with x.03: dumper. Stella 6.7. My own debug info as follows. FPS:46.66(46.69) MD5:308c78ba92738785dd8c688e36bcF9b4 SIZE:2048 Type:2K, C1:8, C2:8 So I think I'm only getting a partial load, and then it bugs out. Thank you. I can confirm that it does. I have a cart and played it MANY times. Keep in mind that you need either the original joystick sleeve or use a 7800 controller. It needs two buttons. Size should be 4096, so it seems to not read the whole cart. Maybe you should do another cleaning run with WD40 and Isopropanol If you are lucky you can still read the oval sticker on the backside. It reads: Q.C. PASSED – and beneath that 'P' for PAL and 'N' for NTSC. Besides that the modules look the same Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/357759-the-2600-game-compatability-thread/page/10/#findComment-5555778 Share on other sites
+Fred_M
My PAL copy of Assault works fine. The cartridge looks the same. When a cartridge does not load correctly it often displays the incorrect debug info. Try to clean the cartridge again (and again) and sometimes it helps when you pull back the inserted cartridge a tiny bit. Thran
Sorry for the dual post. I put this in the wrong thread before. Short version is that the Good Deal Games version of Possible Mission doesn't work on my 2600+. I have installed the latest updates.
