-- Combat with 2nd player AI

-- Realsports Multi-Cart

-- Video Pinball with ability to create your own tables (think Pinball Construction Set).

I have always wanted single player Combat, I'm sure many of us have, it is definitely something that they could do in an enhanced version, and what an iconic game it would be to rerelease.

So here’s a custom boxart I made for the 2600 version of Crystal Castles, mildly edited for a plus version, and a very rough sprite attempt for an updated sprite look for such a plussed up game.

Essentially, I’m proposing another stylized approach in the spirit of the 2600 version with the power of the 7800, rather than a strict 1 to 1 arcade port.

However if we could have it, I would take both yours and my idea on two separate rad carts cause I love Crystal Castles 🥰

With the color schemes you are showing you have to use wide pixels, otherwise with square pixels you only have 112 vertical pixels which is not enough to replicate the mazes of the 2600 version. If you draw a complete maze you can check the result yourself.

Good to know, thank you. I will do a proper screen mockup later. This was a quick thing

WOW!!!  Where do I start? I've been reading all your wonderful ideas and these are top of mind. Some of these are new, some already discussed, but added for additional endorsement. Admittedly, some are way-out-there wishes, but you asked, Ben! :)   Sorry for the longish post...

1. Obvi, the top tier programmers and artists on AA creating / enhancing games.

  • Top of mind: anything by Homebrew programmers you can contract with on: PacManPlus, Thomas J, Spiceware, Champ Games + artwork by Nathan S.
  • Enhanced games with OmegaMatrix's menus (why not do this with a 7800 multi-cart in addition to 2600?

2. 2600:

  • Medieval Mayham - Deluxe XP packaging that it deserves
  • Man Falls Down
  • More Paddle Games!
  • More Driving Games!
  • 2 player games with 1 player options
  • SwordQuest multi-pack - XP packaging (obvi ;)
  • Crazy Climber - XP packaging (since this was an OG mail order, many don't have nor have the box)
  • Obelix and Asterix multi cart - XP packaging (hard to get since released late and mainly Canada / EU release)
  • Sports - How about contracting Champ Games with the new sports titles they are already working on?!
  • Lunar Lander (contract with Champ Games with their game already in-dev)

3. 7800:

  • Missile Command 7800 (enhanced compatible/designed for both joystick and trackball)
  • Tempest 7800
  • Time Crisis 7800 - Light games even possible? Would love this with new light guns! (I realize this shoot the moon territory)
  • Circus Atari 7800 - Rerelease of PacManPlus (with Deluxe XP packaging)
  • Outlaw 7800 (updated XYPE Gunfight for 7800?)
  • Major Havoc 7800
  • Track and Field 7800
  • Super cool Kaboom-like paddle game for 7800
  • New Breakout-like paddle side scroller for 7800
  • 7800 versions of Night Driver, Sprint, Indy 500 (compatible with both joysticks or Driving Controllers...we could play on either the 2600+ or OG 7800)
  • Any 7800 protos not finished/released (e.g. Sirius, Plutos, etc)

I'll stop there as I'm sure there's more but these are what I got after 1st Sat am cup of coffee.

Oh, I'd love to win, but if not and John Hancock wins, I'll gladly take his prize! haha ;)

Yes, Missile Command 7800 with Trakball support (TB mode)🤗

I already proposed "Pitfall II - ARCADE" so I don't know if I'm allowed another option...
Just in case, there's always the game we've all always thought impossible to play on our magical and beloved VCS.
>>> Dragon's Lair <<<
[here is a video posted by none other than Andrew Davie showing the film maker running on the movie cart.... from here making it an interactive film is up to those who know how to program...

Needless to say, both games with such high-sounding names would be "best buys" that would "sold out" immediately.

Obviously over all these years of "waiting" (more than 30) I had already prepared all the artworks for both [PHOTO]

I just wanted to add that AtGames has obtained the license for Pac-Man 8K homebrew. So it should be possible.

Ew.

Anyways, I imagine they were still on Namco's good side when that was made. Not that things can't be worked out, I'm just saying.

I would like to see an INDY 500 revival.  Something similar to the current paddle inclusive pack, but with a pair of driving controllers and maybe a 4 game dip switch cartridge with the legacy INDY 500 along with new racing games.  I've always enjoyed the ice racing in the legacy game and wished there were more cartridges that utilized the driving controllers.  I think a new 'driving pack' would get a new wave of driving controllers out into the wild to encourage some new home brews, etc. that utilize this underused controller.  Hopefully a new production of driving controllers wouldn't be cost prohibitive as they don't even need a potentiometer.  I believe under the hood they are just a revolving knob that triggers signals similar to the 8 direction joystick.

Does no-one here know how to contact him, or who to contact in order to get information concerning his status or the status of his works…?

I tried many times using a variety of means over a period of years to contact him. This includes mailing a physical letter, but I never once received a reply.  His website also went down several years ago. :(

If I had to choose from existing games:

- Sirius 7800 with Pokey music (composed by whomever did the music for Berzerk Recharged) and ending

- Mappy for 2600

If I had to change my mind:

New Extended versions of Dark Chambers for both 2600 and 7800.

Meaning cart-releases with more memory.

With more memory, the extended versions should have more levels, backdrops, enemies, weapons, treasures, characters, level-segments which get recombined to make up a total of 100 levels with a final Boss (perhaps a huge Skeleton-Dragon or Titanic Lich King) and an ending before returning the player/players back to level A(1).

The 7800 version should have Pokey/Hokey music, and just to be competetive (after being somewhat absent as franchise, and why beg Warner if one make one own thing?), throw in 8 character-classes/fantasy races.

(and please have a logical strip-down of the undead - Black Caped Sorcerer -> Ghoul-Lich-Sorcerer-> Ghoul-Lich -> rooting zombie -> ragged skeleton -> bare-bone/stripped skeleton -> crawling skeleton arm -> jumping skeleton skull trying to bite. It just looks more ‘logical’)

[and make a Dark Chambers Recharged after that, no vector-world please; fantasy art shall it be]

But if one cannot have more than one entry-post to the competition, my first is the one which counts.

Ok.

And no-one kind of knew him or his closest ones, or whether he had a circle of friends and contacts in other retro-gaming communities/sites…?

Well, anyway, it’s not a game I’m familiar with.

Saw a clip; it looked very professional and the graphics of the main-character and platforms seemed very chunky and smooth.

Perhaps it can be gleaned from what he wrote and commented whether or not he had wished others to have a look at his code and works, or rather leave it if unfinished?

I really have no personal relationship to this started game.

DARK CAVERN is my Favorite game ever on 2600!  Very hard to improve upon,  but...I imagine a version where the color palette shifts every time you kill 4 robots or something,  just to keep it interesting...Maybe a few voice enhancements to add to the menace...That would be Amazing!

Atari 7800 - Tough call because there's so many choices.

Why not a 2600 Dark Cavern with way more levels (having more memory on the cart) - each level with other colors and some new robots…?

What about, my friend, - a brand new 7800 version of Dark Cavern - utilizing it’s sprite capacity (roughly 100 sprites on-screen) and lots of caverns, robot voices, blasters, pokey/hokey music and either infinite mode or make-it-through a set number of levels…, - wouldn’t that be something ?

(There could be terminals to stop at and access - they let you choose to buy weapons and items, get level codes… or play a round of Jinks, Pong or a new mini-game called ‘VolFIXKIQSed’…)

@Ben from Plaion @Emehr @Warboss Gegguz People, that's what the SD card slot is supposed to be for.  For Pac-Man, Kaboom!, or any other games that, for whatever reason, are missing or unavailable.  Please, before this grape-squashing-nonsense goes any further, come back to reality!

@Ben from Plaion @Emehr @Warboss Gegguz  I want to apologize to you guys for calling Pinch Manos "grape-squashing-nonsense."  I was rude.  If I ever come up with an original idea for something and share it here in these forums, I hope nobody tells me that my ideas are nonsense.  I'm sorry that I spoke that way to you.
