eightbit
I have no affiliation with this seller, but I have to give credit where credit is due when I see something that is worthy: https://www.ebay.com/itm/335176377183 I had purchased one of these joysticks on a whim since I needed a controller for my TI99/4A. I actually needed a few controllers for various vintage computers that were new and function well. I considered the Hyperkin Trooper as I was using those for a while on some machines and they are pretty good, but they were out of stock everywhere. I saw this and said what the hey, I'll give it a go. When it arrived and I gave it a good run I immediately wanted more. They are pretty inexpensive at $30 a piece and they are using actual microswitch 8-way controls and microswitch buttons. Very arcade feel in a nice small handheld package. They are extremely comfortable to hold and use. If you do NOT like clicky joysticks however I would not recommend. Me, I like clicky. The joystick itself feels exactly like the Neo-Geo AES controller joystick to me. The buttons are arcade style clicky. So I went back to the seller Tech Dungeon since they were sold out and asked for more. They said they make them here and there and that was that. Drat! I checked ebay tonight and they had made 7 more. I purchased 4. Yeah, they are that good in my book! I figured I would throw this out there in case somebody is looking for a quality joystick for a vintage computer or game console. For my money these are better than most I have used (both vintage and modern) and for this price you really can't beat it. The seller actually sends the goods with a hand written thank you card as well. Not necessary of course but it's little things like that I do appreciate as well. Great seller and GREAT product. eightbit
Looks like the seller added two more to the listing. Nice! I think though I should be set with the one I already have and four more. Nice to have new quality joysticks for my old machines. I actually used this controller last night on the Donkey Kong transcode for the CoCo3 (with a CoCo to Atari joystick adapter I have) and I was actually able to advance a few levels...lol. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/358667-excellent-joysticks-for-vintage-computers-and-the-price-is-right/#findComment-5373774 Share on other sites
+sramirez2008
I purchased a pair. Thanks for the heads up. Look forward to testing them on my various consoles. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/358667-excellent-joysticks-for-vintage-computers-and-the-price-is-right/#findComment-5373836 Share on other sites

Look forward to testing them on my various consoles. Nice. I think you'll find they are pretty nice. It seems when it comes to good old 9-pin joysticks you typically have cheap options (like knock off 2600 joysticks) or really expensive options (like the EdLaddin controllers...which of course are very nice but pricey!). Or, you can hunt down good condition or perhaps NOS vintage joysticks which is what I had been doing for some time. But something brand new and quality for $30? That I don't come across all that often which is why I was impressed with these. I have used the one I have so far on the TI99/4A, Vic-20, CoCo3 and Atari 600XL and it really has been a treat. Chime in and let me know what you think when you get them. +sramirez2008
Wow! These controllers are very, very good. The seller should probably charge more for them. Thanks for mentioning them. I’ve been using them with my ColecoVision today. I will be playing Atari later this evening with my wife and sons (they’re stopping by for a visit). 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/358667-excellent-joysticks-for-vintage-computers-and-the-price-is-right/#findComment-5376977 Share on other sites
eightbit
That was my thought. +thanatos
Got mine yesterday - so a 3 day turnaround. Quality seems excellent, I definitely like the feel of them. It will probably be a few weeks before I actually try them with a game since everything with Atari ports is put away right now. They also included a thank you card, which I thought was a very nice touch. I just went to their website (www.techdungeon.xyz) and saw they were at VCF Midwest this past fall, so I'm sure I stopped by their booth at some point. 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/358667-excellent-joysticks-for-vintage-computers-and-the-price-is-right/#findComment-5398852 Share on other sites
0078265317
He offered me the metal thing for 3 bucks but I said no. I got this instead. The blue one there is two on ebay for 70.97 and 44.95 on ebay This lot was less even though untested so I took a risk. It will arrive in a week or so. probably. He said he would sell me the blue Prostick II for 15 dollars plus 8.45 shipping and 2.35 tax. So 25 dollars and 80 cents tax. Untested. But looks good shape. The prosticks are less common. Or at least I have not seen them as often in the wild or on sites like ebay. So it is worth a risk. The other guy showed more photos and said the tape on the silver box was covering the sharp edges. So I skipped that. That would of been bad. What cought my eye about the prostick was the dual red buttons in the front because I ma a lefty. So I hope it works and is a good deal. That is what we do here. Open things up and fix them and clean them. There was a thread about fixing a pro stick 3 with pics of the inside. So hopefully it's not too bad. 0078265317
It came today. Better than expected. Took it apart to see what is inside. The gold thing came loose and the buttons don't work any more. It was working when I got it. I just wanted to see how bad the inside was. Better than I hoped. https://mvvg.blogspot.com/2024/02/prostick-ii.html?m=1 Now I just have to figure out how to get it all back together. But I am not sure what these old used ebay controllers have anything to do with the thread at all. This thread was created to give a heads up regarding the Tech Dungeon joysticks however every single post in this thread from you have been about buying or fixing something else. Maybe you should not hijack this thread and make a new one about your ebay "score" and repair.
