Cetmeguy
Hi, What's the difference between the Atari 5200 128-in-1 USB Flash Cartridge and the Atari 5200 Ultimate SD Cartridge? Is it just that the 128-in-1 updates and add roms via Windows with a USB? So there are a few demos and such that will only run on the UltimateSD because of that. I know one of the features is that data is able to be streamed off the SD card for instance. That is how some of the video like demos work such as Bad Apple and I think Atari Blast 5200 requires that feature too. RB5200
128 - 1 You can put 128 images on it and yes you operate it on the PC with USB to remove and add roms. And it also won't play bounty Bob strikes back. Ultimate sd Uses a SD card, remove card and operate it via SD card reader on PC, to remove or add games, and will play BBSB. Only limited to the size of your SD card for how many games you can stick on it. Mine has a 4 gb card, and I have roughly 400 games on it, and haven't even yet to make a dent on the memory of the card. So for the same price I think it should be pretty obvious as which to purchase. Unless there's something extra special that I don't know about the 128 - 1, I honestly don't even see the point in that one, I think that one would of been great 15 - 20 years ago, before the ultimate came out, but now that there is a ultimate SD. And now there is also a product called backbit pro, pretty much the same thing as the ultimate SD, but is multi platform capable, by purchase of different console adapters. I knew about the BackBit Pro, but had no idea that there were multiple adapters for it! That's sweet! I just bought one with the 7800 w/pokey adapter. I also got the 5200 and the 400/800 adapter for it. I would have bought the TI 99/4A but I already have a final grom for both of my 99s. Eventually, I'd like to get the other multicarts for my collection and for their extended capabilities, but I think the backbit pro was a great way to save some money.
