Here are my times for this past week (November 4th through 10th, 2024)

Arcade:

River Patrol - 12 min.

TI-99/4A:

Slymoids - 41 min.

Burger Time - 10 min.

This week I didn't play much, but I tested a game that's new for me, and a few others. "River Patrol" is pretty monotonous if you play it for more than a few minutes, but you could say it's a predecessor of "Toobin'" in a way.

Then I played two games on the TI-99/4A, in which the playtime was basically one game. In "Slymoids" I bareley made Level 3, before the gam threw so many enemies at it I couldn't cope. In "Burger Time" I playe until the 6 patterns were through, which happens over the course of 10 minutes.

I keep thinking.  Maybe one Monday in the future, I'll log in and see that @Prosystemsearch has logged more than an hour in a game.  Or maybe even "finished" a game.

Alas, not today.

Atari 2600
HERO 150

HERO 2 (Game Select) 55

I managed to make it straight through levels 1-20 on a single game in both HERO 2 and HERO.  Did a little mini review about it here:  https://forums.atariage.com/topic/358971-games-beaten-in-2024/?do=findComment&comment=5563175

OK then, what's the issue here? Many 3rd gen and even a couple handfuls of 4th generation games don't have an ending per se. Years ago I thought that games like Ms. Pacman, VCS Spiderman, Dragonfire, Wizard of Wor, Galaxian, Galaga, Jr. Pacman, and Tunnel Runner had some kind of ending to them. Now I know that in the pre-crash days and and for a short time after that, having a proper ending screen was not the norm, ultimately.

Nowadays I fully sympathize with anyone squeezing in three minutes here and five minutes there. For that matter, here are my last achieved milestones:

Last time I played a game for 60+ min in the same week: M.U.L.E. in May 2023

100+ min: Millipede in April 2023

200+ min: Great American Cross-Country Road Race in January 2022

300+ min: Pole Position in May 2021

400+ min: Premier Manager in May 2017 (739 min) and August 2015 (898 min, my highest ever on a retro game)

1000+ min: Mahjong Titans, estimate 1200 min in January 2020

During the last two weeks I only played games twice:

Zelda 2024-2 by Tim D. (Hack) for NES - 188 minutes

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 for PS2 - 73 minutes

Progress:

Zelda 2024-2 (version 2.1) - I continued where I left off and played until I completed the game. Well, when I defeated Ganon the game still glitched and the door didn't open so I couldn't get to Zelda. He made all this effort to fix his hack but still didn't fix that error.

Dragon Ball Z: Budokai 3 - I played more World Tournament mode and earned money to buy more skills. I have 59% of the capsules.

I forgot to post last week so I've got two weeks worth of times to share! Most of my focus the past couple weeks has been on finishing Star Fox Adventures for the GameCube for the first time in half a dozen years, which was a lotta fun but oh man I forgot how hard some of the challenges on Dragon Rock were! I persevered though and did manage to finish it, and since then I've just been playing through Dead Space: Extraction for the Wii and a few random games here and there. :)
