Fretwobbler
Shoot-em-up. You were a bloke in a spacespoot scrolling left to right. Seem to recall the name beginning with Z , like Zorlons or Zylox or something. I think you could shoot the power ups to rotate what weapon you recieved similar to Sidearms but I could just be getting the two games confused. I recall it was very similar to Sidearms. Anyone able to help? Adam
HolmesA8
You're thinking of Zybex, a great side scrolling shooter.
Gunstar
I remember a very good shoot-em up for the 800/XL/XE line call ZYBEX. I actually played it last night. I'm sure it's the one your thinking of, but it scrolls right to left and you move up and down like DEFENDER. But your a guy in a space suit/rocket pack and you can gain like six different weapons and power them up to insane amounts. Good graphics too, it was monochrome backgrounds and enemies that changed colours every level (not black and white always, but shades of different colours). Then you could choose your color from like 8 different colours. It can be played 2 player side-by-side, ala Raiden or R-Type. It has like 15 different levels and you can select to play any at any time if you had enough coins, but have to play every level to finish the game. Most levels have Bosses at the end. Great game. You'll find it here under "Z": Vjetnam 8-bit Atari Games Archive
