Yosikuma
Wondering if anyone has had similar issues. I am using FinalGROM on my TI-99/4A with 32K and speech attached. It works mostly flawlessly with most programs that use speech (Parsec, Alpiner, Bigfoot, etc.), but there have been a few where chunks of speech get completely garbled -- certain sentences in Rasmus Moustgaard's Pinball 99 and the scores being read in Tennis by Nicesoft become complete garbage outside of "love." Has anyone else experienced these bugs? Is there a remedy to these weird bugs? +jedimatt42
The titles you mention are likely cart loaders into the 32k ram.. I'd get garbled speech from similar things when the side-port 32k wasn't properly powered, or just dirty... You can run a memory test program from the FinalGROM99 that'll test the 32k fairly well... it would be good to illuminate that as the problem. https://github.com/jedimatt42/ti994a-memtest/releases/download/2.2_a/exptest_c.bin I would verify the 32K is solid before further speculation. Parsec running from original ROM and GROM dumps won't touch the 32K, along with the others. There is probably another version of Tennis out there that executes from ROM instead of a cart->32k loader type ROM loader... +arcadeshopper
get the finalgrom99.zip off the ftp.whtech.com/cartridges/ folder that has the real carts the ones you are running are likely they flashrom versions that copy from rom to ram 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/359283-finalgrom-and-garbled-speech/#findComment-5386199 Share on other sites
