I ordered Odynexus and Growing Ties Deluxe as soon as they went up, but probably won't receive them for some time. I have spent a lot of time with the Odynexus demo and with the games collected in Growing Ties Deluxe, but I understand there are a lot of enhancements. Hard to rate them fairly.

Star Blader will not be released until the end of Q1 2024 according to @Nop90:

Under what definition does it count as a completed game? Nobody can play the finished version yet. It has not even been sold at small conventions like PRGE. According to the definition @ZeroPage Homebrew gave in the main thread:

We are keeping it simple: Was it publicly available? Yes? Then it's eligible.

it should not be in the running - it has never been and is still not publicly available. People will be voting on a 2021 preview release. (Then again, they are probably going to do so for Odynexus as well.)

You can check out all the definitions and qualifications in the Voting Guide

  • Completed: If a game has been declared “finished”, “completed”, “done” or words to that effect by the developer. Game must have video of gameplay or a binary download publicly available to qualify.

I always give a link or further information when the developer confirmed the game as completed. Here's the listing for Star Blader in the 2023 Lynx listings:

You can see the link listing that they declared it completed on Nov 15, 2023 which links to a post that says:

Quote

Game completed.

It also fulfills the further requirement for qualification for the completed category because it has a public binary download as linked in the listing, albeit an older build.

Just like Physical Releases, the developer is not required to give a full build of the their final game to qualify. It would be extremely exclusionary to disqualify developers for not giving everyone a free copy of their game. The developer can release whatever they like to represent their game whether it's a full binary, a demo, an earlier WIP or a video, that's completely up to them. I'm not going to disqualify games based on how a developer wants to represent their game.

I would rather include MORE games than leave them out, I created the AHAs to celebrate games and I try to include as many as I can in one way or another.

Also, thank you for checking through the game lists for issues. This is the type of scrutiny and input we definitely need on the Nomination Committee during the nomination process to spot inconsistencies and provide valuable feedback on the process before the lists become public. Hopefully you will be able to take part in the nomination process next year!

Both of you are right, the game is completed, but it's not yet available because the phisical carts are in production.

The final game is a polished version of the old release in the video, with more opponents, a final boss battle and the the 2 Player mode (that is the cause of the long delay from the demo release). Another video would not make so much difference. I know that without a new release or a new video probably the game will take less votes, but it's ok.

As long as you're okay with it I'm happy!

Is there a manual? I have figured out a few things but can never get past the second opponent. I tried looking up instructions for the original version but didn't find anything great - I didn't try that hard, though.

There will be a manual and there is a control list in the main menu. If you are playing the demo version, the first three opponent will be easier to kill in the final version, then difficulty grows up. The Boss is almost impossible 😆.  If you have other questions, please post them in the game thread.
