I downloaded PDFs of several Compute! magazines in case it disappears.

This. If I find something interesting or useful online, I make it a point of keeping an offline copy for my own personal use. I have Gigabytes of content that is no longer available online.

External hard drives are both inexpensive and very secure against attempts to make content disappear down the memory hole, especially when they are stored disconnected from a computer. 🙂

I interact with CISA and FBI on occasion and as part of my new gig.  The people themselves tend to be on the same side of the conversation as we are, but the mere existence of these organizations leaves them rife for abuse.

Keeping my response brief: totally agreed.  The abuses that happen tend to develop at the organisational level rather than at the operational one.  Of course, the operational side is fed by the organisation, but that's a much wider topic of conversation :)

It turns out, and I am not certain from whence it came, but I am currently mirroring the entire COMPUTE! Magazine collection across four torrents.  Given a cursory inspection, they look like the ones in the Wayback Machine's archive.  They are not using archive.org trackers, so I am almost certain that is not where I found them.  Whatever the source, I am happy to have them.

To this end, if anyone would like these torrents, I can post them here or will provide them via PM.  All of the torrents I mirror are scanned for viruses.
