Duttroid
Hi everyone, I am curious if a place for JZINTV users to share their keyboard hack files already exists. In recent years, I have experimented with configurations of more modern controllers, and created some configurations that I consider to be intuitive and an improvement in control. For example, one can use the 8BitDo M30 controller for excellent control in an Intellivision game (for which 16-way control is not important): Use X/Y/Z as 1/2/3. Holding L shifts X/Y/Z to 4/5/6/. Holding R shifts X/Y/Z to 7/8/9. Holding "Select/Back" shifts X/Y/X to 0/1/9. I have received requests for some of the keyboard hack files that I mentioned on Reddit. I have attached them to this post. I hope they are useful to someone. ECS Computer Keyboard is supported by these configurations - tested with a cheap Amazon USA keyboard. intv_kbdhackfile.cfg.xinput-keys has been tested with a Logitech F310 in X mode. intv_kbdhackfile.cfg.8bitdopro has been tested with 8BitDo SF30Pro/SN30 Pro controllers in Switch mode. intv_kbdhackfile.cfg.m30 has been tested with 8BitDo M30 controllers in Android mode. Please let me know if there are any questions, and I will do my best to answer. It's been years since I made these. They seem to work well for JZINTV on Linux/Retropie. It's completely possible that I missed something important and that they are flawed. I take responsibility for absolutely no undesired results of using these files. Thanks intv_kbdhackfile.cfg.xinput-keys intv_kbdhackfile.cfg.8bitdopro intv_kbdhackfile.cfg.m30 Edited April 21 by Duttroid
Crash7
How about if I only have the ability to play the shoot 'em up games on JZINTV? The keypad does not work? Which one of these do I download? Top, middle, bottom? Thanks..... Edited April 22 by Crash7
Duttroid
Do you mean games like Night Stalker? You'll have to modify these or make your own (or get used to "Hold L for 4/5/6" and "Hold R for 7/8/9"!)

You have a controller that you want to use with the emulator, then you need a hackfile to map it out for the emulator will know what to do with those inputs. If you post more info about your what you are using, then we can offer some help with the needed hackfile.
Crash7
I have a pair of Sears controllers and I have a pair of brown flashback controllers I can use Dave's Ultimate PC interface and play shoot-up games with JZINTV Gui emulator, but I can't play games like Sea Battle on it because the numbers pad doesn't work. I know it's a programming issue because I can use the same pads on Nostalgia to play the classics like Sea Battle. But some Homebrew ROMs don't run correctly on Nostalgia, that's why I need to be able to use the keypad on JZ. Thanks for anybody that can help me. If your keypad buttons start at the ninth game controller button (any PC game controller test utility will tell you) then the hackfile should have something like the following: MAP 0 JS0_BTN_08 PD0L_KP1 JS0_BTN_09 PD0L_KP2 JS0_BTN_10 PD0L_KP3 ... ts-x
Awhile back I uploaded a large collection of preconfigured keyboard hack files for an Xbox 360 controller to GitHub. Those settings should work on other similar modern controllers as well, with maybe some slight modifications. The link includes 150+ kbd hack files and launch scripts used for jzIntv on my RetroPie setup. There is a summary spreadsheet in the "kbd" folder that lists the specific controls mapped to each button for each game. That folder also includes an image for the Intellivision "Numpad" invoked by many of the kbd files (usually called by pressing LB). These are just my modern interpretation of the controls, so for anyone who’s interested please feel free to change/revise to your liking. That link also includes some other miscellaneous jzIntv stuff - custom palettes, launch scripts that help resolve joystick drift, cfgs, etc. Enjoy!
