How Alien vs Predator was made on the Atari Jaguar - James "Purple" Hampton Interview

Recommended Posts

Is Alien VS Predator the best game on the Atari Jaguar!? The creation of this iconic FPS game is an amazing story. Enjoy this fun interview where James "Purple" Hampton reflects on how he bought this game to life! James also shares some amazing stories of working at LucasArts before working at Atari:

Really good interview.  Was fun listening to James talking to all the quarters he sunk into Star Castle.  So glad I got to spend many hours playing that game myself.

And his description of Lance, some great information there.

Soooo... any luck on getting that picture of the notes for the AvP CD project?  I like how that became the early information for the AvP PC game.

What a really great interview!

It was nice to hear him talk about Lance Lewis, sharing those insightful stories that some of us could just listen on and on to endlessly… was warming to hear him speak nicely about Sam Tramiel as well, whom I’ve always liked also despite the backlash he and a few others got.

I remember reading about the AvP computer voice in the past but it’s nice to hear the story being told! This guy lived the dream 🤘🏻
