So I only started playing this game this week and I gotta say WOW, is it ever fun and addicting.... 

 

On Classic Mode I just smashed my PB.... 😲

 

I was on the verge of blowing it wide open, but I still don't quite understand the movements to get the like numbers closer to each other.... As you can see I have some huge numbers on this board, but I just couldn't get them next to each other.... 🥺

It is like yesterday!

 

All tiles displace in the selected direction (up/down/right/left), tiles slip over empty spaces, and if two tiles with the same number are adjacent then these are combined into the next number.

 

As in each turn a number is added, you'll lost fast the game when all the tiles are filled and no movements are possible (i.e. combining equal numbers).

 

I remember clearly @Kiwi and @Tarzilla contributing backgrounds. Good memories!

Pick two neighboring directions, such as left and up, and use those the most. As you get further, you'll need to use multiple rows (concentrate on up and right on 2nd row, for example), until you hit the next big milestone.

In fact yes, press 5 at the title screen to switch to 4096 and 8192 modes.

I now have a new goal.

 

On my phone, i was getting much higher than 8192.  Once you get the pattern going - and having an undo - makes it much easier

Oh, sorry, I don't know if it is available in this version. 

 

On many 2048 phone apps they have an undo.

I played some more this weekend and find I am regressing. I cannot even come close to 8,500 now.....

I've had this game on my flash cart for quite a while and never knew how to play it and didn't give it a chance. But i now i see how to play it. It's quite addicting. My best so far was around 4,000. A have a lot of work to do.
