Tom
the new physics are quite cool. now i always try to jump from high platforms down to low platforms to get higher jumps, which can save you bounces =) btw, when i said the game was hard to play i meant the version 0.96 (the one that was running always at hardest level)
Kuddy
There's a bug in the new version. Sometimes, upon landing on a platform, the player graphic will flash all over the column and then you'll die as if you had fallen into a pit. I still don't know exactly how it's caused though. Only happened twice.

Kuddy
Gasp, another bug report. The first level never ends. As you can see in the screenshot below, I've managed to accumulate 3251 points by playing a full game, and have made it quite far on the level, but I could have sworn the level was much shorter than it is now (if there even is an ending). You be the judge.
Video
Cool, you got the color change back in. V 96 is a little hard IMO, because the platforms are so small and so far apart. V98 is better, and the High bounce on a high fall adds quiet a lot of stratigy to the game. It's only getting better
Thomas Jentzsch
Gasp, another bug report. The first level never ends. Oops, you are right. I'll fix it soon. I should be more careful when optimizing my code.
Thomas Jentzsch
Cool, you got the color change back in. Currently I had some bytes free, so I added it again. But it may disappear again. V 96 is a little hard IMO, because the platforms are so small and so far apart. V98 is better, and the High bounce on a high fall adds quiet a lot of stratigy to the game. Thanks! First I found playing with varying bounce heights a bit irritating, because I was used to the constant bounces. But since I got used to it, I too think it is better. Vigo
This is an awesome little game you wrote here! Congratulations! Gameplay and the smoothscrolling kick ass! Perhaps a little suggestion: Does the game engine allow different kind of platforms like platforms, which disappear when bumped once, or deadly platforms? These kind of platforms could be marked with different colours.

These kind of platforms could be marked with different colours. That would be possible. But I am not sure if it wouldn't change the character of the whole game too much. I'll do some experimens... BTW: I just replaced v0.98 with v0.99 (fixed level length)
bjk7382
Your coming out with revisions before I get a chance to run them thru makewav (command prompt). I get that done and play it a few times and there is a new version out How about one end-all REALLY GOOD version? It is just a slight hassle to convert it to audio every time, not a big deal
Kuddy
Whee. With GWAR playing in the background, I finally hit a new high score today after not having touched the game for a week. So unless the rest of you have gotten higher and not posted, I'd say this is your new standard. So, I assume 0.99 is the final version? No more bugs or other issues? EDIT: WTF... I hate it when phpBB is all like "LOLZ U CNAT TURN OFF TEH EMOTICONS" on me.

Maybe I'll have to increase the difficulty slightly now and there are very few little things I would like to improve. But 0.99 is about 99% of the final game, though I don't know when I'll find the time to make the final updates.
Thomas Jentzsch
After a break of one whole month, I finally found the time and made a new version (v1.01). As always you can find the file attached to the first post of this thread. Changes: - left difficulty selects random (easy) or non random (hard) platform generation mode - right difficulty selects dynamic (easy) or constant (hard) bouncing - some minor cosmetic fixes If nobody complains about the gameplay (too hard, too easy?) or finds any bugs, this is going to be the final version. bjk7382
So how did you have enough memory to add the on screen death flash and all the different difficulties?

bjk7382
So how did you have enough memory to add the on screen death flash and all the different difficulties? Optimizing. It is a great version, but I think you have the difficulties backwards. The "A" position is supposed to be hard and the "B" position is supposed to be easy. At least that is the way it is on most games.

IIRC z26 defaults to easy for both difficulties, which is non-random platforms and dynamic bouncing.

I always thought that constant bouncing was easier than dynamic. (like earlier versions) You are right, nevermind me
Thomas Jentzsch
I always thought that constant bouncing was easier than dynamic. (like earlier versions) Once you get used to dynamic bouncing it should become easier than constant bouncing. Especially in higher levels, where you can jump much farther. bjk7382
I have been playing this game on and off for a while now. (Version 1.01) I played quite a few games to get the score below. I like playing it with both difficulty switches on easy. (non-random platforms and dynamic bounce) I think these games should eventually make it to cartrige for all the people that don't have a supercharger. Anyone feel free to beat my score

That will happen for sure. And probably quite soon.

Do ya got a same kinda deal goin along with that? I thought about PC5, together with the chopper and a third mini game on one cart. But I am not sure if everything (especially my coding) will be finished early enough. And I hate a rushed job.
