Jess Ragan
I can't seem to configure this emulator to fully work with a controller, and I've tried two already... one a wireless M30, and the other a wired SN30 Pro. Nostalgia does recognize buttons on these joysticks, but not D-pad or analog thumbstick inputs. It'll tell me to define the input in the controller menu, then completely ignore any input from the D-pad. What do I need to do to fix this? Can it be fixed in the emulator's input.cfg file? Because I'll tell you what, nothing I do within the interface seems to help. SIGH. Why can't they all be as hassle free as Stella or Kega Fusion? mr_me
Nostalgia should take the first analog stick and map it to the Intellivision controller disc by default. If you want to work around some of its limitations you can try using keyboard mappings and then map the controller to the keyboard using a utility like Joytokey. Nostalgia is a very old emulator, no longer supported, and hasn't been updated for a very long time. For better controller mappings you can try Mame or Jzintv. Jzintv if you're interested in modern homebrews.
Crash7
Nostalgia 5.0 is great for playing the INTV classics. But it struggles with a lot of the newer stuff as far as homebrews and controllers.
+Steve Jones
open emu plays games for a variety of systems including Intellivision and you can configure controllers very easily within it, if you want to try a more modern option
