And another thing,

ASS!!!

You know what, just after I closed the tab with your post, the following one contained that post:

Strange coincidence, right?

I had to make a screen cap because the link would not work for some reason...

That is strange.. 😂

What's also strange is that you managed to quote my post when there was still a link in it, instead of the screen capture I added a few seconds later. 🤯 When I posted it initially, the link was replaced by another, unrelated one from this very topic, but when I edited it, the right link was there again... It was probably a simple bug and reloading the page might have sufficed, but I wanted to be sure.

A seller on eBay has the wood grain Super Pocket for $99. Received mine last week and I like it. Some games are unplayable with the D-pad like Food Fight and Fatal Run. Nice to play Miner and Bounty Bob on a handheld!

Huh, I haven't had any problems with Fatal Run or Food Fight. What happens?

Most racing games don't translate well to a D-pad. Pressing up to accelerate, then left and right to steer with your left thumb isn't easy or convenient to do.  Especially if you're right-handed. On Food Fight at times pressing the D-Pad to the left results in no movement by Charley. With a joystick you get instant movement in the direction you want to move. I'm sure with more use it will get easier but I can see where the inability to map buttons on your own is a negative with these handhelds.

If I had to guess,  maybe a Lighter Touch on the D-Pad is required?   I've had no issues myself,  but maybe some folks get really into it and don't notice they're pressing hard enough to hit the LEFT and RIGHT at the same time?  Just a possibility...Another is of course a busted D-Pad or something...

Yeah, pressing in the center at all locks you up in Aquaventure and Yars' Revenge, and apparently Haunted House too. I haven't had it happen in Food Fight or Fatal Run, I will need to try them out with that in mind. I do wish the Super Pocket had mappable controls.

That being said, "pressing up to accelerate, then left and right to steer" is bad design for any racing game, whether you play it with a D-pad or a joystick. Of course you don't have that problem with a wheel since it just goes left and right.
