Albert
Greetings! We'd like to (finally) update the 2600+ compatibility list on Atari's website to reflect the progress that's been made improving the compatibility of games and hardware on the 2600+. If there's anything that does NOT run 100% on the 2600+ using the very latest firmware, please list it below, including a description of how the game or hardware fails. This can include not just games originally published by Atari and third parties back in the day, but modern homebrew games and hardware as well. I have looked through the very helpful 2600+ Compatibility Spreadsheet that @KainXavier put together (thank you!), but it doesn't seem to be comprehensive in covering all the games and hardware. If there's another, more comprehensive list that covers just about everything, please let me know and I will look through it. Again, I'm just interested in what does NOT work right now, since that is a relatively small list at this point. Here's the current list, and I will update this as people respond: Boulder Dash (AtariAge) - Melody (3E) - Does not load Galagon (Champ Games) - Melody (CDFJ) - Does not load Lode Runner (AtariAge) - Melody (CDFJ) - Does not load Star Warriors / Frogger 2 PAK Special (HES) (PAL) - Does not load Dolphin / Pigs n Wolf 2 PAK Special (HES) (PAL) - Does not load Planet Patrol / Wall Defender 2 PAK Special (HES) (PAL) - Does not load Challenge / Surfin 2 PAK Special (HES) (PAL) - Does not load Thank you everyone for your help!! ..Al

Yeah, I know that the CDFJ/CDFJ+ games won't run, which would be most of Champ's releases over the past few years. I do need to get an exact list of those. Older DPC+ games should now work, though. ..Al

I would make a list of the DPC+ games that work...along with which kernel (or kernel version) they use. Especially since I feel like anything over 32 KB would not load. Then again, while I did need the money, I do miss the 2600+ that I sold. Fingers crossed that we eat big for next year or so. All the older DPC+ games were only 32K, though. Only recently do we have larger games, and those are CDFJ+ (or something even newer than that). There are some batari Basic games that use DPC+ as well (such as Deepstone Catacomb). ..Al

shane857
For me. The only games that have issues are my PAL copy of Frogger 2600 (Parker bros) Disappearing sprites and Crossbow 7800 PAL audio lag, which does not happen in all PAL versions apparently. Apart from those, I'm good. 👍🏻
OscarGungan
My understanding is that the driving controller, the video touch pad for Star Raiders and the keyboard controller don’t work on the Atari 2600+. 1

MrChickenz
I would have to throw in, Paddles for Super Breakout and Kaboom. For myself these games are playable but not quite right! Super Breakout has an incremental paddle movement. Which effects game play Kaboom the paddles don’t have a quick enough response for the game to be played the way it should. You can only get to a certain point in the game making it impossible to advance. Although these games load and work they are not 100% in my opinion. And as others have mentioned as well. The fact that the 2600+ does not properly emulate the paddles with the same performance level of the original is a shame. The current paddle emulation on the 2600+ is a C-.

A possible solution would be an adapter that utilizes the USB-c to DB9 with an OTG cable included with the adapter. I believe this is possible with the emulation that’s installed on the 2600+. This has been done with the Retron 77 with great results. This is something I would purchase if it resolves the paddle issues.

MrChickenz
To sum it up, I don’t think any hardware works on the 2600+ except for Joysticks and Game pads. The Paddles work for most games but not 100%. Super Breakout and Kaboom are not 100%.

Others like Kaboom, Super Breakout, Circus Atari, Brik are a medicore experience. I miss the Trakball support😞 If paddles work, support should be possible. Driving Controller support should be possible. Atarivox would be nice but seems to be very difficult? Touchpad also would be difficult to implement? 2
