Ripweade
I'm curious. Opinions wanted: What are the best 7800 games? Just opinions. I have Galaga and Pole Position II, and just bought Xevious. Galaga is fun, but I do enjoy 2600 Galaxian as much. Pole Position II is slower than the 2600 Pole Position, so the 7800 version is weak to me. The OGs out there, can you recommend me a 7800 game for me awesome 2600+? Joust on 7800 is my favorite version of the game which isn't just an emulation of the arcade original. Mario Bros, Ms Pac-Man, Asteroids, Centipede, Dig Dug, Donkey Kong, Donkey Kong Jr, Robotron 2084, Rampage, etc. All solid arcade ports for the time. Ninja Golf is probably my most played 7800 original, at least before considering homebrews. 6 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/371209-atari-7800-announced-along-with-10-new-games-and-2-new-controllers/page/24/#findComment-5536451 Share on other sites

Also - the 7800 version of Joust is easily the best version of the game, including the Arcade version. 2 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/371209-atari-7800-announced-along-with-10-new-games-and-2-new-controllers/page/24/#findComment-5536547 Share on other sites

(Not to be confused with the 2600 version the game play is different.) Absolutely Fantastic Game! The CX7800+ controller works great with this game! I can’t say for sure whether the CX7800+ Wireless controller will be as good but according to Ben it will be an even better experience. So this will be the first game I test the CX7800+ Wireless controller with when it arrives in 2 months. 😉 Edited September 21 by MrChickenz 1 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/371209-atari-7800-announced-along-with-10-new-games-and-2-new-controllers/page/24/#findComment-5536628 Share on other sites

Brad_from_the_80s
I know Asteroids was mentioned but 7800 version is really good. Different from 2600, which is awesome, and pretty commonly available. 3 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/371209-atari-7800-announced-along-with-10-new-games-and-2-new-controllers/page/24/#findComment-5536635 Share on other sites

swiller
Good suggestions above. I have taken a liking to the 7800 version of Centipede from Atari 50. The game never clicked with me, probably because I am so bad at it. I like the 7800 version. Still hard but can get somewhere. It has the same type of charm as the 7800 version of Asteroids. I have my eye out for the carts. The arcade's difficulty ramping is designed to eat quarters, and the game is tedious because it gets insufferably difficult way too quickly. 2 Quote Link to comment https://forums.atariage.com/topic/371209-atari-7800-announced-along-with-10-new-games-and-2-new-controllers/page/24/#findComment-5539919 Share on other sites
