+DarkLord
Okay, this is for everyone who is using an RGB2HDMI mod in their ST computers. When you set yours up, did you have to do anything with the pallet in the settings? The reason I'm asking is, when I first set mine up on my STacy and started using it, I had really mixed up colors in the ST control panel (CPX). I had to adjust them and that fixed it but it's definitely not standard. For example, I use internal Ultrasatan's on both my Mega STe and STacy. If I take the SD card from the STacy and boot it up in the Mega STe, the colors are then scrambled there if I don't return them to the original settings. Same thing in reverse - if I take the SD card from the Mega STe and use it in the STacy, the colors are all scrambled again. Really kind of puzzling. Thanks all. +DarkLord
I've not updated this thread here but I did in at the Atari-Forum and Exxos Atari Forums... Basically, it's booting up into the RGB2HDMI's 50hz profile instead of 60hz. Remember, my STacy is using a modified TOS v3.06 with the Pak accelerator board. So I contacted Holger Zimmerman and he replied: On 9/4/2024 5:13 AM, Holger Zimmermann wrote: > Hi Ronald, > > Ok, confirmed! This patch from 2011 is always setting 50Hz. > The latest patch from 2021 is considering TOS original > settings, 60Hz in case of US TOS. So he's going to compile a new version for me, with the settings correct for here in the US and send them to me. As soon as I can get those burnt and installed, we'll see what happens.
+DarkLord
Just wanted to update this message thread. Holger Zimmerman sent the updated Pak/3 TOS ROMs and I programmed the chips this evening. Short story, it worked! The RGB2HDMI Mod is now booting up in 60hz mode. Over the years that I've owned my Pak/3 board and been using it, I don't know how many times Holger has come through with solutions and I can't thank him enough. Here's a few pictures: Finally, I ran the TIMER_B program again. I know, I know, it still looks wrong but it's not. For whatever reason, my Samsung Galaxy phone shows the bars between the 3 color ranges not as black. To the naked eye though, they are black. I even took a short video of it to see if it would pick up the black then but it still didn't. It *is* black though... Okay, so one more problem solved - getting closer to putting my STacy back together.
