Now, that backbit supports the following chips:

   TMS4500 TMS9118 TMS9128 TMS9129 TMS9901 TMS9902 TMS9918 TMS9928 TMS9929 TMS9995

 

Does anyone have a vendor they would trust on ebay for TMS99XX chips?

 

Even a list of those that have been problematic would be helpful.

Dan, I just bought a few 9901's from this vendor here in the states https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?ssPageName=&_ssn=specspecialty

Haven't had a chance to test them yet, just received them a couple of days ago.

Thanks @RickyDean knowing the problems with fakes, I've been hesitant to buy any stock of chippings, knowing I wouldn't get around to testing them until to late.

 

Now that I have a tester, it's not a bother to plug them in, select TMS9901, hit test and verify, before the return window closes.

I have used SpecSpecialty before. Usually they guarantee the provenance of their chips IIRC

I’ve purchased from him as well. He actually doesn’t live far from me. His stuff is legit.
