t0ri
Hi, Thanks to the great generosity of our well-known Atarian - DarkLord I was given the opportunity to restore a cool extension for the Atari ST allowing, with the help of a second SHIFTER, a palette of 4096 colors. I used to test it software by Barry Orlando from his 32k colors modification. All works well so I published full documentation needed for constructors on my www. Zogging Hell
Nice work Tori (and Darklord for his generosity), I always fancied trying one of these at some point. 👍 Where does it fit in the ST (i.e. can I squeeze it in with a TOS 2.06 upgrade and some xtra ram) Is it literally in the shifter socket? Edit: scratch that, I should just read your webpage! Edited September 3 by Zogging Hell
+DarkLord
It does literally sit in the shifter socket and the old shifter chip then plugs into the JRI board. it's actually fairly compact.
t0ri
@Zogging Hell In fact, the clone is slightly higher than the original, because I had to use a different kind of precision socket. tOri Edited September 3 by t0ri text correction
