boygio76
Today I wanted to talk about another Analog game (after Buried Bucks); this one is from 1981 and is one of the very first games to play in multiplayer with a friend, released for the Atari 8-bit computers. In Race in Space you have to reach the top of the screen before your opponent, avoiding asteroids, comets and other obstacles. Every time you reach the top you then start again from the bottom with one more point than your opponent. Very basic as a gameplay but at the time (we are talking about 43 years ago) it was original and very fun. Here is my copy in floppy disk version, who knew it? I see that Atarimania doesn’t have the scans of the box and disk, I’ll send them to Allan with the Buried Bucks game! 6 1
Atari_Ace
Interestingly. this game was republished as a type-in in ANALOG Computing issue 24 (November 1984), including the source code. https://ksquiggle.neocities.org/asmgames/raceinsp
