8bitwidgets.com
Hey everyone, so I've been testing my Sears INTV player 1 port.. i'm noticing that specifically upward range on the disc is not responding and i think around the #7 button is not triggering.. what would be the likely cause of this? a bad IC chip somewhere or maybe bad contacts? the unit to the best of my knowledge hasn't had any big physical events done to it.. but it had been transported a bit but nothing shocking happened in transit. Note the same controller in port 2 works 100% so I know it's not the controller.
mr_me
Pin #2 is used for the upper portion of the disc as well as the third row of the keypad. There's another controller cable that goes from the console shell to the main board, that's another thing that can be checked.
8bitwidgets.com
OK cool I'll have to look into that. is there a chip that manages each one separately? or is this pretty much direct to some main cpu?
mr_me
The controller ports are connected to the sound chip. That's where the input registers are.
