grimlick
The Lord of the Rings II - The Two Towers: The Text Adventure is a hack of The Fellowship of the Ring (by Thomas Jentzsch and One of the Bruces), which is itself a hack of Dark Mage (by Greg Troutman). I really enjoyed the 'The Fellowship of the Ring' hack of Dark Mage, it's a quick little text adventure that is a lot of fun to play (at least once or twice). And since the promised sequel was never produced, I thought I would take a crack at it myself. Because it is a straight hack of the first game, there is not a lot of structural difference, but I did try to mix it up a bit with the layout and commands used. Unfortunately, the types and combinations of commands that can be used are severely limited, so it can be a bit repetitive at times (kind of like the first game), but I think I made a reasonable attempt. It follows the narrative of The Two Towers, but only the parts that concern the ring itself. And although I did take a couple of liberties here and there, it remains mostly true to the book. However, please let me know if there are any glaring errors, typos or anything else that needs attention. Enjoy! Bomberman94
This is a NTSC version, right? But i think that is no big problem on my PAL console 😅 Will give it a try on the weekend and give some feedback if you like (but i‘m no big adventure pro 🫣).
