dudeguy
didn't know where to post this. I see someone on Craigslist is selling a vintage machine that converts dollars into quarters, meant for arcades (or maybe bars or casinos, too). They want $200 for it. Not sure if it's a good price or not but I never see these things come up for sale. Is there any interest in coin machines? Coin operated systems have gone out of favor in the last 10 years. They're kind of nostalgic, even if they are simplistic and nature. could be fun to open it up, look at the inner mechanisms, experiment with different types of bills and see what does and doesn't work
roots.genoa
You realize it won't work if you don't put quarters in it beforehand, right? 😉 1
HatefulGravey
I've never heard of anyone looking for one, but it would make a sweet addition to a home arcade. If you had a few, or more, machines it would fit in really well.

Video
Love change machines, I put in a dollar and get four quarters, I win every time! Cool? But unless you have an arcade or automat or something, I see little use. Most vending machines are a minimum $1 now days anyways. But at our work, machines still take coins, we used to have a change machine that took $5-$20 and converted it to dollar coins. Still got a few dollar coins around here somewhere. Our laundry mat still has a changer that gives quarters to run the machines.

carlsson
Watch out so you don't get the wrong model of change machine. 1

Had I an arcade, or even the game room I dream about, it would make cool visual fluff for the room. EDIT: Dammit, now I'm thinking I want one of the smaller change machines to go between my MAME and Donkey Kong Jr cabs. Thanks for that.
