else
Hi. I picked this up recently because the label looked odd. It LOOKS legitimate to me and not home made, but what do I know. It has wear in all the right places, and seems like it’s old. The seller had a few other cartridges that all looked normal. Any ideas? Is this a known variation? youki
Seems to be a version for Atari vcs, not colecovision. But i thought Atari vcs version was only prototype. Interresting... Edited September 18 by youki

youki
My feeling , is that it is a home made Atari VCS PCB with the turbo Prototype on it. The label has been probably printed quiet recently , i mean not in 1982 , but in the 2000-2010 i would say.
else
It's possible, but if so I don't understand why an Atari 2600 shell wasn't used. I haven't tried it yet.

Is this a known variation? Yes, this label is rare because Coleco originally intended to release Turbo for the Atari 2600 (cat. no. 2455) during 1983, and Coleco's cart shells for their 2600 games were white, not black. It also appears it was scheduled for release during the spring of 1983 because it also mentions the Sears Tele-Games Video Arcade. In the summer of 1983, the Sears references were removed. The missing legal info on the label you discovered would read: Quote TURBO™ and Sega® are trademarks of Sega Enterprises, Inc. © 1981 Sega Enterprises, Inc. Atari® and Video Computer System™ are trademarks of Atari, Inc. Sears Video Arcade™ is a trademark of Sears, Roebuck and Co. Printed in U.S.A. ~Ben Edited September 19 by ColecoFan1981

Not always ,i guess it depends on the location . At least in France, there were black.

Tempest
I'm going to assume this is the CV version in a mock up 2600 label that used accidentally for some reason. Tarzan was found in a similar state: https://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-2600-vcs-tarzan_s15226.html
else
Thanks all. I'm thinking it's a fan made mock-up too. I can see that the corners look more squared off that a normal Coleco made label. Why they stuck it on a Colecovision cart instead of an Atari cart who knows. Well, I didn't pay much for it (<$10) figuring it probably wasn't legit, so no real loss... Edited September 19 by else
