ftdi232
Lately I've noticed that both of the reset switches on my ADAM have a lot of friction when being used. Do the ADAM reset switches require dielectric grease like the Colecovision power switch?
NIAD
I have never heard of the need for dielectric grease being used on the two reset switches on the ADAM and for that matter, I have never heard of anyone using dielectric grease on the ColecoVision's Reset Switch... only the Power Switch. Wil be interesting to see if anyone with the tech knowledge chimes in with a response as I am lacking in that department.

I can't speak for the Adam but as far as the colecovision, any grease will block the carbon contact on the plunger in the reset button and make it unusable until you clean it. People will do it to their consoles, and I always have to open them up, clean the metal contact inside then clean the grease off the plunger in the sink with dawn soap. I've never used dielectric grease in the power switch. That switch isn't sealed, and all that grease is going to do is attract dirt and dust in a short time. Then you're right back where you started. If you want to do anything to the power switch, then add little deoxit on a qtip and brush a light coat on the contacts which is usually more than enough. A little goes a long way. However, be advised, it's still a lubricant so it will attract some dust and dirt but not nearly as bad or as quickly as dielectric grease.
